Founded in 1911 in Durango, Colorado only as a high school, Fort Lewis has expanded its wing ever since to be recognized as one of Native-American serving non-tribal liberal arts colleges by the U.S Department of Education. Residence

  • FLC offers 8 residential community housings that include 2 apartment complexes.

Programs

  • FLC’s academic programs provide the perfect balance of structure and freedom with 51 undergraduate majors and graduate programs at the FLC School of Education.
  • Popular programs include business, health and technical sciences, education, creative arts, humanities, and place-based studies that build on FLC’s unique location.
  • Academics at FLC are organized into three schools.
    • School of Arts & Sciences offers majors, minors, and certificates in more than 40 programs.
    • The School of Business Administration has the AASCB accreditation that shows the highest standard of education.
    • School of Education allows combining an undergraduate major with teacher education and paves a path to teaching high school. Special Education Endorsement can also be earned.
  • FLC has a big Geosciences Department that organizes a 4-week field camp during summer for all the geology majors.

Financial Aid for International Students

  • A limited number of scholarship options are available for international students. Students should apply for a scholarship during admission.
  • Academic tuition scholarship is available for first-year international students with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0. An annual award of $6000 is adjusted to tuition expenses.
  • International students are not eligible for need-based scholarships. However, one can always go for a work-study program to self-finance education.
  • International students aspiring to study at Fort - Lewis are ineligible for federal, state or financial aid programs processed by their Financial Aid and Scholarships Office.
  • Applying for financial aid programs in the US can be overwhelming due to their extensive application filing process. Here’s a brief list of research scholarship opportunities from private organizations both within the U.S. and India.
