Program Description

The master of public administration (MPA) program at the University of Oregon promotes evidence-based decision making and the efficient and ethical stewardship of societal and environmental resources by professionals in the public and nonprofit sectors. We support this purpose by training a diverse cohort of students from the U.S. and abroad to be effective administrators, analysts, and advocates in their communities.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

  • The middle 50% of admitted applicants have ACT scores between 22 and 28. 46% of students submit ACT scores when applying.
  • High School GPA 3.6
  • Transcripts should show courses through at least the end of eleventh grade. Upon graduation, submit a final transcript confirming graduation and showing all academic course work.

VISA & Work Study

VISA

  • Undergraduate students will receive an I-20 for F-1 visa status.
  • Exchange and sponsored students may receive a DS-2019 and will need to apply for a J-1 visa.
  • Students are required by the U.S. government to comply with the following F-1 and J-1 Visa regulations:
    • Pursue and complete full-time study in the IEP and/or advising-approved UO courses.
    • Be in good academic standing.
    • Attend class daily.

Work Study

Students may work up to 25 hours per week, while classes are in session, and receive a monthly paycheck based on an hourly wage that they can use for educational expenses.
