International Student Admissions

English Proficiency Test Scores

All international applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of their proficiency in the English language, written as well as spoken. The students can take globally recognized tests and submit the scores for the same. Students may also be exempted from giving the scores, if,

Visa Process for International Students

International students who wish to study at TAMUG are required to have a student visa to study in the U.S. and to be able to reside in the country. Applicants for visa would be issued an F-1 student visa, to obtain which they must submit in their I-20 form. Form I-20 or the "Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status'' is issued by the university itself. To request the Form I-20 or DS-2019 from International Student Services, international students must submit several documents and fulfill specific criteria.

Students outside of the US requesting for the I-20 form must complete the Initial I-20 request through the Terra Dotta System. Post which the applicants must verify the following data:

  1. Valid passport
  2. Proof of finances
  3. Proof of English proficiency
  4. Updated address and phone number in the Howdy portal
  5. Any additional documents as per requirements

Once the students obtain their I-20 form, they can approach the U.S. embassy in their country and get their student visa issued.
