Ever since its inception in 1984, Goshen College has operated as a private liberal arts college in Indiana. Earlier known as Elkhart Institute of Science, Industry and the Arts, it has earned an affiliation from the Mennonite Church USA. Goshen is a top-tier regional college in the Midwestern United States (as per US News and World Report 2019) and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Goshen College had an undergraduate enrollment of 950 students with 200 new students (fall 2018) and is open to students from all walks of life. 57% of the students of the college are from a faith other than Mennonites and 8% from other countries. Graced by the motto of “Culture for Service,” the college is situated in the humble town of Goshen and has a lively campus, spread over 135 acres with 19 major buildings and a 1,189-acre natural sanctuary.

Goshen College Campus

The campus of Goshen College is gorgeously spread over 35 acres with 19 major buildings, a natural sanctuary, clubs, theatre, sports centre, and other ensembles. As an institute of faith, the college has a Chapel, Interfaith Club, Hymn Club, Taizé prayer service, Parables travelling worship team, and a Table Grace.

Goshen College Residence

Goshen College students have the option of living in traditional residence halls, student apartments and intentional living communities. Full-time students can enrol at the GC live-in campus if they don't meet the following requirements:

Full-time students are granted permission to live off-campus only if they meet the following requirements:

  • 23 years or above of age.
  • 112 Credit Hours.
  • Living with an immediate family member.

Following are the traditional residential halls available:

  • Kratz and Miller Residence Halls: Has double, single, triple and quadruple occupancy rooms; Most of the rooms are double occupancy rooms
  • Yoder Residence Halls: Can accommodate over 202 students; Separate floor for men and women.
  • Kulp Hall: Oldest residential hall of the campus; Available only for students who graduated from high school at least two years prior to the beginning of the class.

Goshen College Programs

Goshen College has the proud accreditation of the Higher Learning Commission. It is classified as a Baccalaureate–Arts & Sciences College by the Carnegie Foundation and all the courses are directly monitored by the foundation. Goshen College offers undergraduate, adult degree and graduate degrees to students in over 50 fields.

Undergraduate Programs: 43 majors, 51 minors.

Adult Degree Programs: Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Nursing.

Graduate Degrees: M.S. in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner track, onsite), M.A. in Environmental Education (onsite), Doctorate of Nursing Practice (online) and Master of Business Administration (MBA, online).

Goshen College Application Process

Application Portal: Students are required to submit an online application

Application Fee: College charges an application fee of 25 USD.

Intake Season: Applications are accepted for fall and spring season.

Admission Requirements: Documents and transcripts from institutions previously attended, SAT/ACT score, proof of English proficiency by submitting IELTS or TOEFL scores

Goshen College Scholarships/Financial Aids

Students can get up to $26000 worth of scholarships during their term at Goshen College. Here are some of the scholarships available:

  • Academic Scholarships:
    • Available for first-year students.
    • Range: $8,000 to $16,000 per year
    • Applications are evaluated on the basis of GPA, ACT or SAT scores.
  • Achievement Scholarships:
    • Offered to students based on their accomplishments and future promise
    • Students who directly enter the college from their high school are eligible to apply
    • Students must send their scores via priority deadline: November 15 and January 1.

Work-Study Program:

Everyone on the campus can apply for jobs and be compensated for it. The Career Networks office entails job descriptions for students. Students are responsible for finding their jobs and it will take an initiative coming from the students themselves.

Work-Study also employs students, which is a federally subsidized program. To apply, students need to have fulfilled these requisites:

  • Be a U.S citizen
  • Have the FAFSA application, filed by the priority deadline.
  • Have demonstrated financial eligibility.

Goshen College Alumni Network

Goshen's Alumni enjoys a number of benefits, including a closed network group and a beneficiary account. Pass outs can make an alumni account and join the group.
