What sort of job would you be doing?

The work-study program at LU emphasizes on civic education and work related to students’ course of study.

How much would you be earning?

Every participant would be awarded at least the minimum federal wage. However, you may earn more according to the skills you have and the sort of work you do.

The total work-study award would depend on:

  • When you apply
  • Your level of financial need
  • Your school’s funding level

How you are paid?

  • Payment is made between 10th and 20th of each month
  • Paid by the hour if you’re an undergraduate
  • Paid by the hour or by salary if you’re a graduate
  • Your school must pay you once a month either by crediting the amount in your bank account or by paying for your education-related institutional charges viz. Tuition, fees, accommodation, etc.

How many hours can you work?

  • International students with a 20-hour restriction on their I-20 form can not exceed 20 hours per week limit.
  • A timesheet will be maintained by the supervisor/employer and the students enrolled in the work-study program are expected to fill in the details on a daily basis.
