  • The Master of Science in Nursing program is designed to advance the professional nurse as a Nurse Educator or Nurse Executive Leadership and Administration. Nursing education at the Masters level is intended to reflect the recommendations of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).
  • The program's development is built upon AACN's nine Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing, recognized as the educational foundation for the nursing discipline. Congruent with AACN, the Master's program prepares the professional nurse for leadership that is adaptable in a rapidly changing, complex healthcare environment and to take critical action needed in health, education, and organizational systems.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

The following requirements are:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Students with less than 2.5 GPA may complete two courses of graduate coursework. If the student earns a grade of a B or higher for both courses, students will earn final acceptance.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse holding an unencumbered license.
  • Must have completed an undergraduate Statistics course.

VISA & Work Study


  • All students must submit an F-1 Visa Student Financial Responsibility Form and all supporting documentation that confirms that the student has funds for the cost of living and studying at Cumberland University for two semesters on deposit at a financial institution in the United States or a foreign country.
  • The F-1 Visa Student Financial Responsibility Form is required for each academic year. All international students are also required to complete an F-1 International Student Regulation Form.

Work Study

Students work part-time jobs on or off-campus and earn between $8.00 to $12.00 per hour. The amount of money a student earns may be applied toward student charges at the University. Receipt of work-study funds is contingent upon the fulfillment of the assigned work responsibilities.
