I didn't want to go to school in California. I explored all local states including Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, and Montana. Eventually, I decided upon Kentucky because the golf course I worked at had members that would go there.
Much of it was good. I enjoyed a lot of the process but there were a few classes that felt like I was just paying for the teacher to berate the class for their supposed shortcomings while honoring their own accomplishments.
I chose the University of Kentucky because of the layout of the campus, the nice dorm rooms and the accreditation of the college of nursing. The buildings are all fairly new and well taken care of. The city is also within walking distance.
The curriculum is rigorous. However, the professors are well informed and adequate at their job. There are many ways to get academic tutoring and assistance. Most professors have open office hours and are very helpful.
