Admission Deadline for International Transfer Applicants

Transfer students seeking admissions in the Fall term are expected to submit their application forms by August 1. Meeting the deadline also ensures consideration for transfer scholarships at the university. Transfer applicants aiming for earlier notification of admission and scholarships must apply by June 15.

Transylvania University International Student Admissions

International students seeking Transylvania University admissions need to fulfill some additional requirements. Apart from reviewing the process of visa, they have to ensure submitting the following for consideration at the university:

  • Firstly, international applicants are expected to submit an essay along with their application form. For those applying through the common application can refer to the instruction to upload the essay file. Students using the printable application have to submit the printed essay along with the application form.
  • English-translated official secondary school transcript must be attached with the application form. The transcript should also include the grading scale of students.
  • Students with English as their first language can follow guidelines for domestic students regarding test-optional choices for admission. However, those applying for premier scholarships need to submit their ACT/SAT scores.
  • Non-native speakers of English have to present proof of English proficiency.
  • A letter of recommendation from the school guidance counselor (or a teacher/principle) is a must.

Visa Process for International Students

  • The university will issue Form I-20 to international applicants.
  • Applicants have to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20:
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Copy of passport
    • Sponsor letter, if applicable
  • After receiving the I-20 form, applicants have to pay the SEVIS fee.
  • Applicants then need to visit the US embassy in their country to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa.
  • Further, the form has to be submitted along with the application fee.
  • Schedule the visa interview and make sure to attend it on time.
