UCLA International Admissions

UCLA is one of the most desirable destinations in the world and provides admission to the international applicant too. A total of 12,000 international students are already enrolled in the university.

UCLA International Undergraduate Admissions

Application portal: International applicants can apply online from the official website of the university.

Application fee: 80 USD for online application.

Academic requirements: international applicants are required to submit all official academic transcripts translated in English, SAT/ACTscores, and English language test scores.

Supporting documents: financial information, visa copy, and passport copy.

UCLA International Graduate Admissions

Application portal: applicants can apply online from the official website of the university.

Application fee: 125 USD for applying online.

Admission requirements: the requirements for international students will be the same as for domestic students and will be discussed in the given below.

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions

Application portal: applicants can submit the application through the UCLA admission portal.

Application fee: 70 USD.

Academic requirements: applicants need to fulfill the academic requirements by submitting official transcripts and ACT/SAT scores. Applicants can submit the scores of ACT plus the ACT writing test or the SAT with Essay.

The average ACT scores were 33 and the SAT scores were 1337 in 2018. Applicant scores should directly be sent to UCLA.

The SAT or ACT codes are 4837 & 0448, respectively.

Visa procedure: Information about obtaining a 1-20 certificate of eligibility will be made available to admitted applicants by the Dashew center for international students and scholars.

Admitted applicants are required a DS2019 for a J1 visa should contact the program to which the applicant has been admitted to submitting the request.

UCLA Transfer Student Admissions

The university is committed to being a transfer-friendly institution. The average GPA of admitted transfer students is above 3.5, and admitted students have completed most or all the majors' preparatory courses.

The university admits only for the quarter only.

Academic criteria for transfer students:

  • Junior-level standing (60 semester/90 quarter transferable units completed) by the end of the spring term before the transfer.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher earned in transferable courses.
  • Progress towards completion of major preparation requirements by spring prior to transfer.
  • Requirements by spring prior to transfer:
    • Two transferable courses in English composition/critical thinking and writing.
    • One transferable math course that has a prerequisite of intermediate algebra or higher.
    • Four transferable college courses in at least two of the following subject areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences.

UCLA Graduate Admissions

UCLA offers a graduate degree in nearly 150 departments ranging from an extensive selection of business and medical programs to degrees in 40 different languages.

On average UCLA only admits 6,000 graduate students of the 21,300 who apply each year.

Application portal: can apply online through the official website of the university, except for medicine, law, dentistry, MBA, and MFE programs in the Anderson graduate school of management, which have their own application admission processes.

International applicants- 125 USD

Global Executive MBA for the Asia Pacific, the Master of Financial Engineering, and the MS in Business Analytics programs- 200 USD

Academic requirements: the applicant has to pay 105 USD ( U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents) nonrefundable fee for the application form, Applicants to the Global Executive MBA for the Asia Pacific, Master of Financial Engineering and Master of Science in Business Analytics programs pay an application fee of 200 USD.

  • The general requirements for admission for U.S residents are to provide a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, comparable in standard and content to a bachelor’s degree from the University of California.
  • An overall scholastic average of B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
