The Dongguk University of Los Angeles is a non-profit, oriental medicine university located in central Los Angeles, CA. The establishment traces its roots back to the Royal University of America, which entered into a collaborative arrangement with the Dongguk University Korea in 1997. It then officially came to be known as the Dongguk University Los Angeles or DULA in March 2009.
The institution offers the accredited postgraduate program Master’s in Science of Oriental Medicine (MSOM)and a Doctorate degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program for students to study in the USA. The establishment boasts of having the largest Oriental Medicine facilities in the US, located centrally in Los Angeles.
The original Dongguk University at South Korea is the oldest and one of the most prestigious medical academia in the country, well-regarded for its College of Oriental Medicine.

The Dongguk University Los Angeles offers two postgraduate programs:
The Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) is a four-year program that prepares students for licensing examinations. This flagship program of DULA is offered in three languages – English, Chinese and Korean.
The Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) is a two-year postgraduate program and is conducted in English only.
The DULA campus is located centrally in Los Angeles where the majority of the diverse population of the city converge. The campus is easily accessible by all modes of transport. The 51,000 square feet facility is a four-story building that houses 35 classrooms, a library, and several study areas, along with an oriental medical center complete with treatment rooms and a herbal dispensary too.
Dongguk University Los Angeles does not offer on-campus housing facilities to its students. However, students can look for off-campus student housing to stay in the US.
Dongguk University-Los Angeles offers admission to students in two postgraduate programs. International students have to fulfill some additional requirements so that DULA can issue an I-20 for them:

Most Financial Aid at DULA is federal in nature and has to be applied through FAFSA. Only candidates who are a citizen or an eligible non-citizen of the USA are considered for federal financial aid. DULA has a few institutional scholarship options as well that are available for international students:
New Incoming Student Scholarship: Each year 2 MSOM students are shortlisted to be awarded 1,000 USD as the New Incoming Student Scholarship. Candidates with a minimum of 3.5 GPA (out of 4.0 scale) in their most recent qualification can apply along with a personal essay.
Didactic Merit scholarship: This scholarship is for current students who enrolled in a minimum of 36 units within the last 4 consecutive quarters and have the highest GPA in the class. The best student is awarded 1,000 USD per year while the second-best student gets 500 USD per year.
Clinical Merit scholarship: This award is for the outstanding intern and is granted 500 USD per year.
