Dongguk University Los Angeles (DULA) provides a master’s degree and doctor’s degree in oriental medicine. Each program is offered in three languages, i.e, English, Korean and Chinese.

  • DULA has opted quarter term system with regular sessions in Winter, Spring, Fall, and Summer.
  • The University doesn’t provide any doctor’s degree to non-matriculated students.

Dongguk University International Admissions

DULA invites students from all over the world to seek a master’s and doctor’s degree in oriental medicine. The university had enrolled 74 international students in the session of 2018.

Dongguk University MS in Oriental Medicine International Admissions

Application portal: applicants can apply online or can download the application form.

Application fee: 100 USD in general submission and 120 USD for a late submission.

Academic requirements: International applicants applying for the MSOM are required to submit official transcripts, test scores of English language proficiency.

Supporting documents:

  • If applicants meet all the admission’s criteria, successfully in that case, DULA will issue the USCIS/ SEVIS 1-20 form.
  • The University requires a bank account statement showing the current balance in U.S dollars.
  • University considers 2 letters of recommendation in English.
  • Applicants are required to submit I-20 form with the necessary information.

Please note that if an applicant already enrolled as an F-1 student in other institutions of the USA, in that case, applicants are required to submit a transfer release form from the official institution.

Dongguk University Ph.D. in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine International Admissions

Application portal: the applicant can apply online or can download the application form from the university’s portal.

Application fee: 200 USD including the 1-20 form fee in general submission and 220 USD in the case of late submission.

Academic requirements:

  • The university considers sealed the official transcript of a master’s degree or master’s level program in Acupuncture or Oriental medicine candidate institution.
  • Nondomestic students are required to submit a comprehensive course-by-course evaluation through the academic credential evaluation service (if applicable).
  • Applicants are required to submit the test scores of English language proficiency.

  • The applicant can submit an affidavit of support form with the supporting bank statements issued within 6 months.

Academic requirements: the applicants are required to submit a copy of their master’s degree in oriental medicine from an accredited or candidate institution.

Supporting documents: university provides a fillable application in pdf form so the applicants must make sure that they had prepared documents given below:

  • Two Passport-sizedcolored photos in the white, black or light blue background taken within 3 months.
  • A personal statement essay should be written in English within 500 words.
  • Two letters of recommendation written in English including the evaluator's statements and signatures.
  • A copy of the California Acupuncture License.
  • A professional current resume of the applicant.
  • A copy of a Diploma or bachelor's degree from previous Oriental Medicine colleges or universities.
  • Sealed official transcripts from the previous college or university.
  • Proof of residency U.S. citizens or permanent residents have required a copy of a valid passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate or permanent resident card.

DULA invites new students 4 times a year and provides a master’s and doctoral degree in three languages, i.e., English, Korean, and Chinese.

The university also admits those students who do not provide all the prerequisite documents on a conditional basis.

DULA provides admission advisor and counselor for both the domestic and international students and provides CEU program for the international students as well as for the domestic students. Applicants are intimated about the admission decision within 1 week of applying.
