Since inception in 1946, Marlboro College has been working on a simple yet ambitious idea of inspiring students to make decisions for themselves and to create a college education that meets the unique needs of the students who want to study in the USA. Marlboro College gives students the freedom and responsibility to create an individualized course of study in collaboration with faculty members. 

Marlboro College is a small private liberal arts college in Vermont and is home to about 191 students. Marlboro College and the Marlboro College Graduate and Professional Studies programs have received accreditation by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).

Programs offered at Marlboro College

Marlboro College offers students an opportunity to choose a study area they are actually interested to learn instead of just studying a single major track. Students can choose whether to study psychology and mathematics, or zoology and creative writing, or ethnography and dance.

The college offers both undergraduate and graduate programs to students. 

  • Marlboro College offers 25+ undergraduate fields of study. Students can combine fields, or even create new ones. A few of the study fields include biology, astronomy, history, mathematics, arts, psychology, religion, visual arts, gender studies, etc.
  • The college offers graduate courses that combine the academic intensity of the undergraduate curriculum along with professional skills and practical experience to the students. The graduate fields of study include education, management, leadership and nonprofit development. 

Marlboro College Campus

  • The campus is located in the scenic Green Mountains, just 10 miles from the vibrant town of Brattleboro, Vermont. The campus offers both community and the space to think to the students seeking quality education here.
  • Besides imparting excellence education, Marlboro offers many recreational opportunities as well to the students which include hiking, biking, swimming, paddling, and cross-country skiing on an extensive network of trails that start right on campus. Besides the college is also the site of the world-famous Marlboro Music Festival, which occupies the campus during the summer.

Residence Facilities at Marlboro College

  • The majority of the students prefer to stay on campus, in its seven residence halls which are located a short walk from classes or in cottages tucked in the woods nearby.
  • Apart from the central campus, there are many small cottages, where students can experience group living with two or three friends and share a kitchen and a common area.
  • The residence halls which a student can choose from include Hendricks, Halfway, All-the-Way, Random South, Random North, Happy Valley, and Schrader. All the residence halls offer hall-mates to connect in a more meaningful way.

Marlboro College Financial Aid

The college offers scholarships to international students so that students are able to support their education. Each and every student is considered for merit scholarships and the amount of the awards can be as much as 16,500 USD a year. The scholarships offered to international students are renewable each year based on the academic performance of the student. The scholarships offered by Marlboro College to international students are:

International students can also apply for other outside international scholarships offered by private benefactors or respective home countries to finance their studies in the USA. Besides, the international students are also eligible to hold jobs on campus and are allowed to work six to ten hours a week.
