Georgia College and State University was founded in 1889 and is located in Milledgeville, Georgia. It's a public liberal arts university, first founded as a female education centre. GCSU follows a semester-based academic system.

The campus is spread over 680 acres and the largest engaged area of the campus is Recreation Sports. The Campus life consists of units- Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student involvement and Business operations.

GCSU offers housing for students in 7 different residence halls (central campus) and apartments (west campus). Living on-campus helps the students in making friends and engaging in several interesting activities or organizations.
The residence halls are located in the middle of campus, around all the campus activities. Some of the residence halls of the university are Foundation Hall, Parkhurst Hall, Wells Hall, Adams Hall, Sanford Hall, Napier Hall, and Bell Hall.
You can also choose to live on the west campus- one, two or four-bedroom apartments are available for both undergraduate and graduate students. The campus also provides an in-house shuttle service for students that runs between central and west campus.
The campus also has a wellness and recreation center for fitness freaks, that allows you to swim, run, bike, lift, climb, kick, relax, steam, soak and most of the sports activities. But if you decide to live off-campus, there are several options available online for that. In this institute, 36% of the students live on-campus and the other 64% live independently off-campus.

GCSU offers generous financial assistance to almost 51% of the undergraduate student population. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic ability, extra-curricular and financial need. Also, the students who couldn’t get scholarships at the time of admission can compete every year for the limited number of scholarships available for ISSs.
