Monmouth College was established in the year 1853 by Scotch-Irish Presbyterian pioneers. It is a private college imparting education at the undergraduate level. The college offers majors in more than 30 courses in science, humanities, business and education. To represent the influence of Greek life, two women fraternities were established by the college, namely: Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Monmouth College Campus and Residence

The campus of Monmouth College is located in Monmouth, Illinois. It has educational farms that equip students with the understanding of sustainable agriculture.

The college offers on-campus residence to 12 residential halls. Details about them are provided below:

  • Bowers Hall: This hall has suit-style rooms, primarily offered to upper-class students.
  • Cleland Hall: Double occupancy and single occupancy rooms are available here.
  • Founder’s Village: It is divided into four houses: Porter House, Harding House, Ross House, and Madden House. Each house has six apartments.
  • Fulton Hall: It is a woman’s residence hall.
  • Gracie Peterson Hall: It houses 87 students in quads, triple and double occupancy rooms.
  • Graham Hall: This is a men’s residence hall, built in the year 1959.
  • Grier Hall: With double and single occupancy rooms, Gier Hall is a women’s residence hall.
  • Intercultural House: This house mainly accommodates international students. It has residential suites for domestic students on the third floor.
  • Liedman Hall: This hall accommodates up to 140 residents.
  • Pattee Hall: Originally named as North Hall, Pattee Hall accommodates up to 130 students.
  • McMichael Residence Hall: It houses over 100 women.
  • Winbigler Hall: It is a men’s residential hall with double and single occupancy rooms.

Monmouth College Programs

At Monmouth College, students are offered an undergraduate degree in over 60 subjects such as humanities, sciences, social sciences, and arts.

In order to learn research skills at an early age, the college provides with SOFIA (Summer Opportunities for Intellectual Activities). This program offers opportunities to explore the field of research with faculty members. The college provides a stipend of about 500 USD to a student enrolled in the SOFIA program as well as a housing facility and meal for a duration of 3 weeks.

Monmouth College Application Process

Application Portal: For admission to the Monmouth College, students can apply through either Common Application or Monmouth College Application form.

Application Deadline: Application for the fall semester is accepted by July 1. Spring Semester application can be submitted until December 1.

Admission Requirements: Official transcripts from all secondary schools and institutions of higher education attended, English translation of non-English transcripts, Transcript evaluation by an accredited agency, SAT/ACT score, 500 to 1000 words essay, One recommendation letters, Copy of passport

English Proficiency Requirement: International students are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, MELAB or Duolingo test scores as proof of English proficiency.

Note: Documents can be submitted via email to the international@monmouthcollege.edu or through the post to the Office of Admission. The college follows WES guidelines regarding high school graduation credentials.

Monmouth College Scholarships/Financial Aids

Work-Study Program:
