International students at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies can apply for various international scholarships based on merit and need. Partner scholarships are also available to help students support their studies in the USA.
International students at MIIS can apply for private U.S. education loans. Although an international student require a cosigner to be eligible for education loan, they can get a maximum award of up to their annual cost of attendance established by MIIS, less other forms of financial aid they have applied for.
Students can also apply for education loans in their respective home countries to finance their education at MIIS.
International students can apply for on-campus work-study and earn valuable professional experience. However, all international students are required to provide proof of availability of finances that covers the cost of attendance without the need to work in order to obtain their F-1 or J-1 student visa. International students can work up to 20 hours a week as part of the work-study program.
