Metropolitan College of New York International Admissions

International applicants can opt for Optional Practical Training (OPT), which is temporary employment that is directly related to an F-1 student’s major area of study. An F-1 student could be authorized to receive up to a total of 12 months of post-completion practical training after completion of studies.

An F-1 student may be authorized by USCIS to participate in post-completion OPT upon completion of studies

Guidelines for International Students:

  • English Proficiency Test score to be sent directly from the Testing agency to Metropolitan College of New York.
  • Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES approved evaluator. The completed evaluation should be mailed to the MCNY Admissions Office. High School transcripts require a general evaluation while college transcripts require a course by course evaluation.
  • International students are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 to be considered as an eligible candidate for admission.
  • Bank Statement and proof of Financial status along with proof of MMR immunization should be submitted by all international applicants after admission to complete the process of enrolment.
  • Submission of at least one Letter of Recommendation and one personal statement is mandatory.

Requirements for International Students Visa

International students have to submit proof of MMR immunizations and a copy of their passport along with a financial sheet and proof of funding.

After the student is selected for admission and all financial documents have been verified, the college will email the Certificate of Eligibility for a Student Visa (Form I-20 A/B). Once received, all the details should be checked carefully.

  • Completed non-immigration visa application form (DS-156) with passport size photo.
  • A valid passport.
  • Receipt of visa application fee.
  • Evidence of SEVIS fee payment (I-901 receipt).
