CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice International Students Admission

John Jay College of Criminal Justice invites applications for various courses from across the globe. The college emphasis on designing, implementing and assessing justice focused study abroad programs.

Admission Requirements for International Students

All the applications for international students’ admission are processed through the CUNY portal. The admissions process for international applicants is similar to native students, but some academic requirements vary.

  • After applying online, submit supporting documents such as:
    • High School Transcript or proof of High School Equivalency Degree.
    • College, University or Proprietary School Transcript (For Transfers Only).
  • Recommendations and Personal Statements.

  • Upon acceptance of your application, you need to apply for a Form I-20 to gain F-1 student visa status.

English Language Proficiency Test Score for International Students

TOFEL/IELTS scores are not required in case of completion of an English Composition course with a grade C or higher at an accredited U.S. Institution.

However, for a citizen of a non-English speaking country, TOFEL or IELTS are required for applications.

Visa Process for International Students

  • The university issues Form I-20 to international applicants on submission of the following documents:
    • Copy of passport
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Sponsor letter, if applicable
  • Complete the I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee.
  • Applicants then need to apply for the F-1 or J-1 visa.
  • Form submission followed by payment of the application fee.
