Bard College International Student Admissions

The application process is the same for all the applicants. However, international applicants must meet some additional requirements.

Admission Requirements for International Students

  • Official academic transcripts certified by the institute’s officials.
    • In case the official transcript is not in English, it must be followed by the certified English translation.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 scores valid for two years.
  • English language proficiency scores.
  • GRE/GMAT exam scores, as required by the program.
  • SAT/ACT scores are optional.
  • Letters of recommendation are necessary.
  • An updated resume with all skills, career objectives, and future goals.
  • Letter of statement or intent
  • Guidance counselor recommendation and a school report
  • Departmental requirements: Some departments require portfolios, awards, interviews, and bard Entrance examination score.

Visa Process for International Students

  • The international student advisor will send the Certificate of Eligibility to the non-immigrant applicants.
  • Accept the I-20 form and the offer of admission sent by the college
  • Submit the form and other documents to the nearest U.S. consulate
  • Other documents requirements:
    • Proof of financial support
    • Bank statement
    • Copy of passport
  • Apply for the F-1 student visa

Undergraduate applicants shall apply for admission through the Common Application portal. Payment of the application fee could be done through wire transfer or online mode. &

International applicants not seeking financial aid must apply for Early Action, Early Decision, Immediate Decision, or Bard Entrance exam. Those who need financial aid must apply for Regular Decisions. The college does not require SAT or ACT score, however, when submitted, &the scores are considered it while making the decision. Early applicqnts are notified by end of December while regular applicants are notified by end of March.
