The Bergin University of Canine Studies in California is a research-oriented university that focuses on the learning and training of dogs. The university offers a total of 5 courses to prospective students amongst which two are associate degree programs and one bachelor’s, master’s and certificate program respectively.
Bergin University holds a seminar on service dogs’ training every year, the certificate program of Bergin University. The Bergin University does not ask for SAT/ACT scores. However, the university does mention a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 as a necessary admission requirement.

The Bergin University of Canine Studies does not mention any deadline for submitting a new application. Though it implies that the university follows a rolling based admission process (reviewing applications as they receive it), the applicant must contact the university admission office for the confirmation of the same. Applications for the seminar on service training dogs are accepted throughout the month of June only.
Note- Only Fall season is open to receive new applications. The existing students are only eligible to apply for the Spring semester.

The Bergin University of Canine Studies accepts international applications. The documents required for an international application are slightly different from that of a native U.S. student. However, the applications for bachelor or master courses have detailed requirement of documents which are the same for all students.

All international applicants hailing from non-native English speaking countries are required to submit proof of their English proficiency. Students can do so by either submitting a TOEFL test score or by submitting a transcript from previously attended university/college/English language school in the U.S. The Bergin University of Canine Studies specifically asks the applicants to submit a TOEFL test score taken in the past 12 months from the date of application submission. The university does not offer visa services to international students. However, Bergin University does send the I-20 form to students accepted in full-time courses. The admission requirements of a bachelor’s degree and an associate degree are the same. However, bachelor degree students are not assigned dogs that are in the process of becoming a service dog. Such dogs are assigned only to associate degree students.
Note: The notification of acceptance will be sent via email/regular mail. It is important to acknowledge and notify the university that the student will attend Bergin University.
