Bergin University of Canine Studies International Students Admission

The Bergin University of Canine Studies accepts international applications. The documents required for an international application are slightly different from that of a native U.S. student. However, the applications for bachelor or master courses have detailed requirement of documents which are the same for all students.

Admission Requirements for International Students:

Following are the necessary documents for International students that must be submitted along with other documents while applying to the university:

  • All forms in English language.
  • Credit evaluation from an international credit evaluation service (in English).
  • Transcripts (General education and elective course) not in English must be submitted with an official English translation.
  • Proof of English language proficiency test.
  • Identity proof (copy of passport)

Language Requirements for International Students

All international applicants hailing from non-native English speaking countries are required to submit proof of their English proficiency. Students can do so by either submitting a TOEFL test score or by submitting a transcript from previously attended university/college/English language school in the U.S. The Bergin University of Canine Studies specifically asks the applicants to submit a TOEFL test score taken in the past 12 months from the date of application submission. To get the application processed for Bachelor of Science and Associate of Science and Certificate courses, all students must submit:

  • Application and non-refundable application fee
  • Copy of transcript that verifies graduation from high school.
  • Official transcripts of university work (if applicable).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • Statement of purpose (one page).
  • Identity proof (Passport for international students).
  • Transcript verifying successful completion of 30 general education and 30 elective credits taken at any institution recognized by USDE accreditation agency

To get the application processed for Master of Science course, all students should submit:

  • Application and non-refundable application fee
  • Official undergraduate degree transcript
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of education
  • Identity Proof
  • One Personal and one professional letter of recommendation
  • Interest and Intent Essay of 1-2 pages with special mention to experience with dogs

The admission requirements of a bachelor’s degree and an associate degree are the same. However, bachelor degree students are not assigned dogs that are in the process of becoming a service dog. Such dogs are assigned only to associate degree students.

Note: The notification of acceptance will be sent via email/regular mail. It is important to acknowledge and notify the university that the student will attend Bergin University.
