International students must fulfill additional requirements before submitting an application to the University of Rio Grande.

Application Submission Requirements

International students must submit the ones listed below:

  • Proof of English Language Proficiency.
  • Official SAT or ACT scores.
  • Letters of recommendation.
  • Official Transcripts of secondary school or University
  • Financial support documentation.
  • Visa certification
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Proof of medical/accident insurance.

English Language Requirements

International applicants applying to the university need to provide proof of English language proficiency. There are no minimum scores that are required for securing admission. The applicants can provide TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT scores as proof.

Visa Requirements for International Students

The university provides Form I-20 A/B to the applicant after acceptance. Once received, all the details should be checked carefully. Following documents are required to be submitted for completing the visa process.

  • Completed non-immigration visa application form (DS-156) with passport size photo.
  • A valid passport.
  • Receipt of visa application fee.
  • Evidence of SEVIS fee payment (I-901 receipt).
  • Additional documents: Academic Transcript(s), scores of any standardized tests taken, financial statement(FSA-4)

Application for Visa can be made with the US embassy in the home country followed by scheduling the visa interview.
