Campus

  • The University is housed in the 150-acre campus that is like a botanical garden full of trees and landscapes.
  • This Campus has secured card access, Academic buildings, Alumni Hall, Residence halls, Dining facilities, Library, Chapel, Sports facilities, warehouse and a state of art T B Price Science complex.
  • The Frances E. Barnard Memorial observatory lies just behind the university campus that has a big telescope mounted inside the building.

Residence

  • The University has four residential halls namely Angwin, South, Sierra towers and Calkins, and around 48% of freshmen stay on campus.
  • Young females below 20 years live in Angwin and Sierra Towers is all-male accommodation. The South Hall is mainly for Honors students.
  • Every residence hall has facilities of kitchen, study room, laundry, Wifi, business center, TV room, and cooling and heating through Air-conditioners.
  • The university has a worship attendance rule of once a week for a total of 10 attendances in a quarter.
  • Single rooms cost around USD 8,250 and Doubles around USD 4,650 per year.
  • The University offers meal plans range from around USD 4,000 to USD 6,300 per year.

Programs

  • The University offers more than 50 undergraduate and 30 graduate degree programs and 23 pre-professional programs in the fields of Biology and Biochemistry, Business and Management, Communication, Information Technology, Languages, Liberal Arts, Health professions and related services, Social Sciences and Religious studies to name a few of them.
  • College of Arts and Sciences, HM Richards divinity school, School of Education, and Tom & Vi Zapara School of Business are the four schools to offer all the programs at the university.
  • The School of Education offers a master’s degree online with only a few classes to be taken on campus and the university also has a successful study abroad program.

Application Process

International students seeking admissions at the University can follow the below-mentioned admission details:

  • The admission applications are accepted online at lasierra.edu/apply-now
  • Standardized test scores SAT or ACT for undergraduates and GRE/GMAT scores for graduate programs are required.
  • Official transcripts of High school/College degree. These transcripts must be attested by the issuing university or Board.
  • English Language proficient test(s) IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79 for international non-native English speaking applicants.
  • Two letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors are required depending on the course. Graduate admissions require virtual or personal interview also.
  • Financial support documents, Statement of Purpose, Undergraduates have to write an essay in about 250 words on one of the given topics.
  • Average Graduation rate:72%; Acceptance Rate 48% and Student retention rate 75%

Financial Aid for International Students

  • The University offers freshmen scholarships to all those students who reside on campus on a merit basis. Students having GPA of 3.75-4.00 receive USD 14,000, GPA of 3.50-3.74 receive USD 12,000, GPA of 3.25-3.49 get USD 10,000, GPA of 2.75-3.24 get USD 7,000 and GPA of 2.00-2.74receive USD 4,000 tuition scholarships.
  • Presidential scholar scholarship is for outstanding students with a minimum GPA level of 3.5. The award consists of USD 15,000 on a renewable basis.
  • The university also offers a one-time USD 10,000 La Sierra Academic Achievement Award and some other small scholarships to its students.
  • The need-based scholarships are also awarded to those who can successfully demonstrate the financial need.
  • Almost 100% of university students receive some type of financial aid.

Alumni

  • La Sierra Alumni association helps the students and members with academics, philanthropic, recreational events, and sports and informative events.
  • The alumni take out a magazine and try their best to make incoming students’ life comfortable and easy.
