Roanoke College offers Bachelors degree in 37 major, 29 minor and 25 concentration courses. Business Administration and Psychology are amongst the most popular majors offered by the college. Over 5,122 applications were received for Fall 2018 admissions. 576 students, out of 3,713 accepted applications, enrolled to Bachelor’s program.

Roanoke College Admission Deadline

Notification for admission is issued on rolling basis. College will continue to accept applications after below mentioned deadlines as per availability of space.

Roanoke College International Admission

College recommends students to submit an essay demonstrating their writing ability along with application. SAT/ACT are not mandatory for admission in Roanoke College undergraduate programs but can be submitted as proof of english language proficiency.

Admission Requirement for International Students

  1. Original transcripts along with Official English Translation (if transcripts are in any other language) sent directly by issuing college or school
  2. Evidence of Financial Support such as bank-certified statement, letter of financial support etc
  3. An essay
  4. English Language Proficiency Proof

International Students English Proficiency Requirement

One of the following test scores are required as proof of english proficiency for international students. Applicants with english as the primary language can also submit ACT or National Examination scores as english proficiency proof.

Visa Requirement for International Students

International students require Non-immigrant US Visa or F1 Visa for studying in the USA. The following set of documents are required along with Visa application:

  1. Completed I-20 form sent by college along with acceptance packet
  2. Letter of Admittance to college
  3. SEVIS or I-901 fee receipt
  4. Completed DS-156 and DS-158 form
  5. Current Passport
  6. Documents showing Financial support for one year stay in USA

Roanoke College Undergraduate Admission

Transcripts submitted for Roanoke College undergraduate admission should indicate secondary school grading scale, class rank of student (if applicable), final grades and record of any additional certificates or diploma awarded. Submission of SAT/ACT scores is optional for students having 3.0 or above GPA.

Academic Requirement:

For First-year applicants:

  1. High School transcripts forwarded by school
  2. Secondary School Report submitted by guidance counselor
  3. SAT/ACT scores (not mandatory for students having 3.0 or above GPA)
  4. A personal statement or essay
  5. At least one reference letter

For Transfer applicants:

  1. A minimum GPA of 2.2 or above in transferable courses
  2. High School diploma or GED score
  3. Official transcripts of colleges previously attended
  4. Admission with Advanced Standing (AWAS) form completed by last attended college
  5. SAT/ACT (mandatory for applicants having less than 8 transferable courses or 24 credits)

Students with following courses in high school curriculum are given preference in admission process:

  • English - 4 courses
  • Social Studies - 2 courses
  • Foreign Language - 3 or 4 courses
  • Lab Sciences - 2 courses
  • Mathematics - 3 courses (2 in algebra and 1 in geometry)

Acceptance decision for Early Action is forwarded within 2-3 weeks of application deadline. Test scores must be sent directly to the Admissions Office through mail. College does not accept scores submitted through email. SAT II, AP, CLEP, IB or any other score can be submitted for consideration in placement and scholarship distribution.
