The SUNY Upstate Medical University is the only academic medical center in central New York located in Syracuse. It is a transfer/upper-division and graduate school with four colleges. These colleges offer programmes in nursing, graduate studies, medicine, and health profession.
The university offers undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programmes. Distance learning is offered for undergraduate courses and graduate programmes. The university is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The cost of attendance comprises several other expenses besides tuition fees such as accommodation costs, books and supplies, etc.

Only a few programs at the University offers tuition waivers and stipend to international students. Scholarships to international students are not available. Private loans can be applied by the international students with US banks, provided a US resident for co-sign is available
The alumni of the college may avail alumni benefits such as, access to study material, access to online databases and journals, career advice, access to library, and invitation to alumni events.
