The California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) was established in the year 2011. It is a non-profit and premier experiential learning university that offers Online and On-campus MBA courses to students across the globe. Admission to the college doesn’t require GRE/ GMAT scores nor does it take any additional tests or exams. Candidates are given 1-year and 2-year program options along with Scholarship and Fellowship opportunities. CiAM is approved by BPPE and recognized by CHEA.

Campus & Housing Facilities

The California Institute of Advanced Management is located at Downtown Los Angeles in California, USA. CIAM offers online and on-campus MBA facilities.

CIAM doesn’t provide on-campus housing facilities at the moment. Candidates applying for admission must make provision for their housing nearby to the campus. Apartments and houses are available at rental basis which approximately begins at $1,100.00 per month 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom.

Programs, Faculties, and Divisions

  • CIAM offers postgraduate in Business Administration i.e. MBA both on an online and full-time basis.
  • Candidates are offered an MBA degree in Executive Management as well as the option to specialize in Project Management or Business Analytics.
  • The course is divided into two tracks – a 16-week term of three terms per year in which students must take 2 courses per term consisting of one hybrid and one online.
  • On the other hand, students can also opt for an eight weeks term with two classes required for every term, thereby completing the course in 1 year.
  • Students are also required to fulfill the compulsory internship course.

Admission Requirements: All international candidates must satisfy the below-mentioned details to be eligible for the CiAM admissions.

  • Online Application Form
  • Students must have qualified their bachelor’s degree in any particular field from an accredited university.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • English Proficiency - TOEFL / IELTS scores are required for gaining admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses

Conditional Admission for International Student:

Candidates who wish to study in the US but do not meet the English requirement of Report writing and presentation skills can seek admissions under conditional admission. Herein, the candidate must attend an intensive English Language program at American English College (AEC) which is a CiAM approved Language school in Los Angeles, US. After the student qualifies with a satisfactory score, they will be approved for admission. The documents required for Conditional admission will remain the same as that for regular admission viz. as follows:

  • CiAM Online Application
  • Updated Resume
  • Scanned copy of Photo ID issued by the U.S. government or Biological page of the Passport
  • Scanned copy of the Bachelor’s transcript issued from an accredited institution overseas.

Scholarship and Financial Aid

CiAM provides international candidates scholarships and financial aid. For availing financial loans students must complete the FAFSA application. Below listed are the scholarships and aids offered by the university for international students.

  • International Scholarship: For non-immigrant students studying for the first time in the US, they are offered an international scholarship. The applicant must have qualified their undergraduate or graduate program, securing a GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Academic Scholarship: Candidates who have secured a cumulative GPA between 3.8 to 4.0 in their undergraduate or graduate program are eligible for an academic scholarship.

How to apply for it: Eligible candidates must fill the International Student Scholarship Application Form along with submitting supporting documents to avail of the scholarship.

  • Candidates must be enrolled to CiAM
  • They must meet the criterion by SAP
  • Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0
  • Must be enrolled in at least one course per term

Work While You Study

Students who have enrolled for admission to CIAM are allowed to accept on-campus employment. The university also offers a non-federal work-study program on a limited basis. This is granted to candidates who are eligible for an F-1 Visa and have followed the rules and regulations appropriately.

  • On-Campus Employment

Candidates seeking on-campus employment must take approval from DSO. The maximum hours of work are limited to 20 hours per week during school sessions and 40 hours during vacation and Winter/ Spring breaks.

  • Off-Campus Employment

Students holding F-1 Visa are prohibited from taking up off-campus employment. However special authorization will be given to candidates who can prove their economic hardship with supporting proof after speaking to DSO. Below listed are the special conditions:

F-1 students can work as interns for international organizations.

The company must be recognized under the International Organization Immunities Act.

  • Non-Federal Work-Study

Students qualifying under the Non-Federal Work-Study program (NFWS) are allowed to take up work while studying in administrative offices. The maximum hours of work are limited to 20 hours per week. Furthermore, students can use a part of this money to pay their tuition fees.

  • Donny Yu – Mr. Yu established his information technology company in 1991 and expanded it to varied industries including communications, real estate, and education.
  • Dr. Albert M. Randall – Dr. Albert M. Randall is a combat aviator in F4 Phantom II who retired as a Colonel from the United States Air Force after serving for 30 years. He also served as the deputy bureau chief for the Department of Public Aid for the state of Illinois for five years.
