Bethesda University is located in California, USA. Its main campus is located in Anaheim in Orange County, California. It is surrounded by many famous places in the proximity of the city. It is also located nearby to the LAX International Airport, Knott’s Berry Farm and Universal Studios.

Housing Facilities/ Residences at Bethesda University

Bethesda University doesn’t offer on-campus housing or residence facilities to students at the moment. However, students provisioned to rent apartments near the university. Candidates can participate in the International Student Program to gain information about housing. There are many apartments available surrounding Anaheim and Bethesda University. The rents range between $900 to $1,300 per month.

Apart from this, students are offered other amenities like student clubs to benefit them emotionally and academically. These include Visual Design Club, Bible Study Club, Prayer Club, Praise Club, etc. To participate in these the student must fill the Student Organization Application Form and submit it to the Student Affairs Office.

Admission Requirements: All international candidates must satisfy the below-mentioned details to be eligible for Bethesda University admissions.

  • Write an essay on Christian Testimony
  • Scores of Standardized Exams to Study in the USA
  • Documentation for financial support and available funds (minimum of $20,000 and $5,000 for each additional F-2 dependent)
  • English Proficiency of TOEFL scores is required for gaining admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Candidates may be required to take up ESL classes based on the scores of English Placement test results.

Distance Online Education

F-1 International students must register for a minimum of 12 undergraduate or 9 graduate credits for each semester. Herein, undergraduate students are required to take a minimum of nine campus classes and one or more online classes. In the case of graduate classes, students must take a minimum of six units of campus classes and one or more of online classes.

Scholarship and Financial Aids

Bethesda University provides international candidates scholarships and financial aid to afford study in the USA. The Federal and State financial aids assist students with grants like Federal Pell Grant, Federal College Work-Study, Stafford Subsidized, and Unsubsidized Loans. The grants are offered based on needs and income. Below listed are the scholarships and aids offered by the university for international students.

  • Young-San Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to one graduate-level student who has secured the highest GPA. Such students will be awarded an amount of $1,500. The student will be screened by the Scholarship Committee to select the awardee.
  • President’s Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate student who has secured the highest GPA/ Such students will be awarded an amount of $1,500.
  • Grace Scholarship: Grace Scholarship is awarded by the Scholarship Committee to the top 3 undergraduate or graduate students who are currently admitted to the university. A scholarship amount of $3,000 is awarded to students who exhibit the best musical performance.
  • Performance Scholarship: Candidates who have demonstrated high-performance skills in their specific field are awarded a scholarship award of $500.
  • Best GPA Scholarship: Candidates who are among the top 10% of each class and have secured an overall GPA of 3.6 in undergraduate or 3.7 in the graduate program will be awarded prize money of $500 under performance scholarship. The scholarship may also be awarded to students who have secured a GPA of 3.3.
  • Best Online GPA Scholarship: A scholarship of $500 is awarded to the top 5% of students of each online course. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship is that the student must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate level students in at least 12 units or graduate-level students in at least 9 units. The candidate must have a GPA of 3.6 at the undergraduate level or 3.7 at the graduate level.
  • Encouragement (Need-Based) Scholarship: The scholarship is provided to students who demonstrate financial need selected by the scholarship committee. Eligible candidates must submit Encouragement Scholarship Forms and the scholarship committee will select the awardee at the beginning of each semester for two weeks.
  • Reading Marathon Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded to 4 students who have read more than 3 books and has written the best book review. The eligibility criteria require students to submit their Korean book review and English book review to the committee.
  • New Applicant Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to new applicants who have secured a GPA above 2.7 or have at least secured A in high school or college or who have received an award from an internationally acknowledged university.
  • Bethesda Undergraduate Alumni Scholarship: Candidates who are inclined to continue their further studies at Bethesda University are awarded Bethesda Undergraduate Alumni Scholarship and will receive up to 50% of tuition discount. The eligibility requires candidates to have a secured GPA of at least 3.3 from the programs. The scholarship will be awarded to students of any graduate program only during the second semester.
  • The Third World Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded to students recommended by any missionary serving in third world countries with a 100% tuition discount. For this, the student must have secured an overall GPA above 2.7.
  • Yoido Full Gospel Church Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to any missionary of the third world countries sent out by the Yoida Full Gospel Church with a 30% tuition discount that will be applied until graduation. In the case of special cases, the student may also be awarded a 100% discount. Other missionaries will be awarded a 20% discount on tuition fees until graduation. The eligibility criterion requires students to have a GPA above 2.7

Grants

  • Federal Pell Grant: Students who have enrolled for a full-time or 12 units are eligible for availing for Federal Pell Grant. It is granted based on financial need. The award money ranges up to $6,195 per year for full-time students. The grant for each term is $3,098 for Fall and $3,097 for Spring.
  • Summer Pell Grant: This is awarded to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in Bethesda University. Qualifying students can use the grant to offset part of their summer tuition.

How to apply for it: Eligible candidates must fill the FAFSA form to be eligible for the grants. International Student Scholarship Application Form along with submitting supporting documents to avail the scholarship.

Work While You Study

Students who have enrolled in Bethesda University are offered employment opportunities to assist their college expenses under the Federal Work-Study Program. Herein students are allowed to work for a minimum of 10 to 15 units a week.
