Program Description

Emory College is a true fit for a student who values academic independence and the resources of one of the largest cities in the country. A student's academics and life outside of class are enhanced by hands-on industry access and internship opportunities. After being accepted to Emory College or Oxford College, students complete the first two years of general education. Students may apply and be admitted to the nursing program while the prerequisites are in progress.

VISA & Work Study

VISA

  • Nearly all of Emory's international students carry a J-1 or an H-1B visa. The department will start the process of issuing the DS-2019 form at least 3 months before the expected start date.
  • The student will receive the DS-2019
  • Pay the SEVIS fee at least 3 days before the visa interview
  • Apply for the visa at the nearest US embassy or consulate.
  • Attend the consular interview

Work Study

  • Employment allows students to gain valuable work experience and is a practical way to contribute to the cost of their education. The types of positions available for students are classified as either Federal Work-Study (FWS) program employment or non-FWS part-time employment.
  • The work hours range from 15 to 20 hours per week as per Federal Work-Study.
