Maryland Institute College of Art is the oldest degree-granting college of art in the nation that offers various undergraduate and graduate programs in ranging fields like of animation, art education, ceramics, fiber, filmmaking, game designing, among others. In the Fall intake of 2018, a total of 3,702 students applied at the institute and were offered admissions at an acceptance rate of around 64%. International Student Admissions

The admission requirements for international students are different from the students applying from the US. The below-mentioned information will help the students to apply to the university in a more accurate way.

How to apply?

Application Portal: The international students can apply online at the university’s official website. The students can apply using the Common Application.

Application fees: USD 70 (60 USD application fee; 10 USD portfolio submission fee)

English Proficiency Test Scores

All the international applicants applying at the organization are required to show proficiency in the English language. The students must score good scores in TOEFL/ IELTS for academic entry to apply at the university.

Visa Process for International Students

The International students need to apply for a student visa to study in the USA post an application letter has been issued to them. Only those students who are allowed to get admission at the College of Art, Maryland College will be issued the I-20 Form. The future students must mention their current immigration status and their intentions regarding immigration by completing the Immigration Information Form. This form is needed before a Form I-20 can be issued.

The students must complete this form even if you do not plan to study under an F-1 student visa. The qualifying students must need to arrange the beneath things as well along with filling the Immigration Information Form which includes:

  • Additional international forms include the Financial Statement for International Students, and the I-20 Transfer Form and Instructions.
  • The international students will be issued form I-20 by the university and after that will apply for the F-1 Students visas to enter in the US.

Applicants will need to provide the following documents to receive the Form I-20:

  • Copy of passport
  • Certificate of financial support (total estimated expenses of attending MICA and living in Baltimore for one academic year is USD 68,527).
  • Bank statement.
  • Personal data information form
  • Complete the I-20 and pay the fee. Apply along with paying the application fee.
  • I-20 TRANSFER FORM with attached photocopy of current I-20
  • Submit a copy of the award letter, if any

Once all the details have been submitted, MICA will grant an I-20 form to the qualifying students, which you will then take to a U.S. embassy or consulate in your country to apply for an F-1 student visa.

Maryland Institute College of Arts Undergraduate Admissions

The university offers Undergraduate Admissions in various fields; all the students can take core First Year Experience before choosing a major. In addition to a major, the students can also choose a Studio Concentration or a Liberal Arts Minor so that they can focus on areas of their interest.
