International Students can seek admission at West Virginia University Institute of Technology provided they have cumulative 2.5 or better secondary/high school GPA, fulfilled the SAT, ACT score criteria, submitted required official academic records or transcripts, verified financial support for one academic year, and met the appropriate deadlines. 

International applicants who wish to study in the US need to fulfill some additional requirements.

    • GPA ACT, SAT, and/or TOEFL, IELTS score report sent directly to the university.

  • Copies of all academic documents and transcripts in the original language of issue, along with the official English translations of these documents must be sent directly to WVU Tech by the institution.

  • An applicant must provide proof of financial support documents.

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

For applicants with a native language other than English, it's mandatory to provide evidence for English proficiency, West Virginia University Institute of Technology accepts TOEFL or IELTS scores. Visa Process for International Students

  • One who seeks admission at West Virginia University Institute of Technology will be provided following documents on completing the application:
    • Official I-20 document 
    • Letter of Admission 
    • Student ID number, and MIX account log-in information
  • Applicants need to pay the SEVIS fee before applying for a student visa.
  • Applicants for a US visa must apply at the US embassy at their place of permanent residence.
  • Once the application is accepted, the applicant will be issued an I-20 form which one requires to schedule a visa interview.
  • One must apply for the visa as early as possible. This provides ample time for visa processing.
  • Applicants must provide the following documents before applying for a visa to study in the US :
    •  Passport
    •  Financial support document
    •  I-20 form
  • Once done with all the formalities and payment of SEVIS fee, schedule and attend the visa interview with the nearest US embassy.
  • Students need to visit the Office of Admissions, once arrived on campus to certify status as an International student. If the student fails to do so, SEVIS will terminate your student visa status.
  • For traveling outside of the United States students should have I-20 signed by a designated school official at WVU Tech. This will help the student to leave the country and return without difficulty.
