University at Buffalo
Is US education worth the cost
The scholarship was given to me 50%. Also, the cost of living in Buffalo is cheap. I applied when I was in 11 th grade. They required grades of high school and statement of purpose however SAT and ACT are not a compulsion. Admissions are not that competitive. They also accept transfer admissions. You have to submit LORs too
It was very rigorous however professors were not good. I was always stressed in my time here.
Gre 311/340, good scholarship given to me so joined to save cost. I got 89% in HSC 12 th grade exam. They issued me 25%scholarship for up to 12 credits every semester. There is no minimum score required however they have a prerequisite GPA requirement of 2.0 and you also have to maintain it while a student.
Exams are usually in class. Answers are multiple choice
Tuition fee $39000 per year. Good scholarships are given from 25% to 100% range. International students are given merit based scholarship. No need based scholarship to international students. However, you can get a scholarship while in the institution from outside resources. Faculty usually helps by referring students to these outside resources.
I stayed off campus because it was cheaper. I used to cook my own meals because it is easier to cook and cheaper. Utilities are cheaper in western new york which is why we used to get a low gas bill when we cooked
Placements are good in the Masters' department of, particularly computer science. Bachelors placement was not at all good. Not good return on investment. You spend $40000 into 4 to get a $55000 job. Not worth it.
On-campus dining jobs available. The internships are not offered as the college reputation is not very high. Most students need to find internships on their own. The career centre helps with the resume majorly.
All major festivals from all religions and cultures
I got scholarship. No seperate process to y for it. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarship
Monthly Expense : $500 - $1500
