Otis College of Art and Design
Learning : Growth : Otis College of Art and Design
Otis College of Art and Design is one of the colleges that provides a fine curriculum related to communication in graphic design studies. One of my friends suggested me to join the college as he himself is studying here. Also one of the reasons for studying here was the easy application procedure.
The curriculum emphasizes on the various topics. I am learning to articulate a critical and theoretical perspective and develop graphic design skills, such as type design and traditional letterpress. Strong craft and presentation skills are also emphasized throughout the classes.
To take admission I scheduled an appointment in the office to meet with an admissions counselor and discuss my portfolio. He helped me a lot in it. Then I submitted the required documents of my secondary and high school.
My tuition fee per academic year is $22,600. I also pay for the health center fee, technology fee, and for the student activity fee. And all this sums up to $500. Books and other supplies are charged for $400.
Since I signed up for the housing I am having the opportunity to live on campus, with many restaurants and shops within walking distance, and just minutes from the beach. Bed, dresser drawers, wardrobe for each of us, wireless internet, cable TV hook up, miniature refrigerator, etc are some of the features provided in the hostel rooms. The rooms cost me $5,350 per semester. And the meals are charged for $1,880.
Apple, Anthropologie, LACMA, Guess, Metro, and Capitol Records are some of the top-notch companies where some of my seniors are placed.
Grants, scholarships, and student loans are the kinds of financial assistance provided by the college. Thus I am availing of the Otis college scholarship. My GPA of 2.05 helped me to avail of this scholarship.
Monthly Expense : $1500 - $2500
