I had the ambition to complete my medical studies from foreign. However, my parents asked me to go to pre-medical in the USA. Being an international student, I was a bit worried about my accommodation in a new country, but Hampshire solved all my problems. I applied through a common application, and there wasn't any application fee paid by me.
The whole course covers all the majors of medical, and the learning experience which I am getting from it is good enough. I have projects in biology, human science and genetics, which are more importantly needed for a medical student. Most of the time goes on the practical session, and the instruments are up to date.
I got excellent support while getting admitted to Hampshire. I gave IELTS and scored 7.5 in it, the SAT of 1280, and I also submitted a written sample work. After I received my acknowledgment email, there was an interview round. I sent my high school transcript and a LOR from one of my teachers.
Being a medical student, we have a health career advising center. I went there and got a good response from the counselor; he helped me with my future choices. There are placement opportunities for us, and I have been at a job fair which was on the campus last year, many companies came for recruitment.
Hampshire Halloween and carnival are the most popular event in Massachusetts. I haven't seen Halloween like this elsewhere. The most unforgettable event I attended in my first year was a block party because I made many friends and the crazy crowd was just so memorable.
The laboratory fee and tuition fee for my first year of medical were around $25000. But there are many expenses for a medical student, as there are many practical sessions, and we have to bring our instruments. My study-related other expenditures for a year cost me around $3000. There are merit-based aids, but I haven't got any, and I'm not sure about the reasons.
Deans and lab heads are very helpful. I got two projects in my last year, and I completed it all with the help of professors. Academic support and cole science center are beneficial, and I had got the best of the information with all the resources. If I have any inquiries on any subject or if I need a lab for any project, then I get full assistance after the classroom hours too.
I am staying in the Merrill House, which is one of the college's dorms. The cost of the room facility for a year is $8700, and I had a different meal plan for which the price was $4700. I am working in a cafeteria after my college hours, as I'm on my student visa. It's helping me with my expenses a lot.
