Western Washington University
No problems with Western!
The price was right, it was the perfect distance away from my home town (far enough my parents couldn't drop in unexpectedly) and they offered a lot of opportunities in my field that I have had the chance to explore - they loved up to what they told me!
The curriculum is very relevant to my studies and does not feel like a waste of money.
SAT, ACT those are the only exams I took, they took my highest score of the two combined. I took AP tests and used those for credit.
The exam structure is different for every class you take. It depends on the professor. Switching professors by quarter is the biggest issue. I hate having to learn a new exam format every couple of months.
The professors are good for the most part. In general, everyone is wonderful!
Tuition, room and board, application fee, book fees, committing deposit, sending test scores, we pay a student green tax, housing deposit, and any extra fees associated with specific classes.
I am living on campus in a suite-style dorm with 4 other girls we share a bathroom and a kitchen/living room. There are two bedrooms (one with 3 girls and one with 2) my roommates were assigned randomly based on a questionnaire, we get along great and love each other a lot!
They provide connections to internships and a couple on campus opportunities. The on-campus programs offer minimum wage starting pay to all of their employees. Which I feel is fair. No problems with that.
We have all kinds of heritage events. We celebrate finals week with free breakfasts in the dorms. All the holidays. We celebrate Fri nights for completing a week of school! We celebrate LGBTQ+ events often as well.
I have scholarships from private parties, about 5 and I am currently working 2 jobs. It takes about a week for any money to go through the school and change on your account.
Monthly Expense : $200 - $500
