University at Buffalo
My experience in college
This college is affordable and has a great math program. I enjoy their classes, they are challenging and require problem-solving. I love a good problem-solving class. Every time I go to class I am required to think outside of the box.
I love their courses? curriculum, it challenges me and also brings me out of my comfort zone. I have learned more problem solving skills than I had before and I have been exposed to new ideas. The curriculum has opened me up to different classes such as diversity courses.
SAT, ACT, Regents, Honors Calculus 1: 95, Computer Science 1: 84, CSE seminar: 100, Macroecomics: 90, Honors 214: 100
The exam structure is mostly written. A lot of the questions are short response and there are typically 15 of them. For a math exam, there are about 6-7 questions with multiple parts to them for a 2-hour exam.
The faculty at my college is great. They are all eager to teach us and have great lesson plans. The people who work in dining services are so nice.
The fees were mostly dedicated to transportation. We have a busing system that takes us to and from campus, too many places. There are also fees for activities like student-run clubs and events.
The job opportunities after high school are 94% positive if you graduate with an honors college degree. I am in the honors college currently and hope to graduate with honors. I want to succeed in my job and UB honors will guarantee that.
My college does provide internships, but I haven't applied for one yet. I am still a freshman, learning what I want to do in life. But I have in fact taken hard courses and feel I will be ready for an internship soon.
