University of Illinois
Equal opportunities at Illinois
It was close, affordable, and it had the program I was interested in. Another factor was that the financial aid part as this school was fully covered for me. I also choose this school as I have had many family members who have graduated from there.
The course curriculum was fair for all students as it was easy to pass with a good grade. The assignments were fair and having access to online homework made it easier on us students. The curriculum also was supported by teachers as they would give lots of support when needed.
I have only taken the ACT for this school as I am not a good test taker. Also, I was not applying to schools out of state so I did not want to take the SAT.
The exam structure was usually multiple choice in which was controlled by scantron. Those were easy as the results of the test came back right away to us. Also, it was good for feedback and discussing with each other.
The faculty of the school was always available when needed for help. I remember going several times a week to the teachers if I had questions after the lecture.
The fee structure was by semester as there were some mandatory fees that were not fun to pay such as the mandatory transportation fee even If you don't use public transportation.
For me personally, staying off campus was much easier and cheaper for me. My parents home was only 20 minutes away as there was no point staying on campus. At times, I would take transportation but would mostly drive to school
When graduating, the school had prepared me for proper placement and job opportunities. It was a very reputable school so when recruiters look at the resume, I usually got calls back right away for various jobs.
My college did provide internships and the experience was amazing and only gave sites that were reliable. The internships I had did not have any stipends but I did have friends who did get paid for their work.
There were lots of events celebrating each holiday. Our school was known as one of the most diverse in the nation. So the school seemed to celebrate in and every little holiday that came up for any culture.
When I attended school, I was having financial aid that made it fully covered for myself. I used the aid each semester.
