• Third/Final Merit List: NMIMS is expected to release the third and final NPAT 2026 merit list in the last week of July 2026 for seats that remain vacant after Rounds 1 and 2. Candidates should log in to npat.nmims.edu to check their merit position as soon as the list goes live.
• Seat Confirmation and Fee Payment (Round 3): Students who appear in the third merit list must pay the NMIMS admission fee via RTGS/NEFT within 3 to 5 days of the list release to confirm their seat. In 2025, NMIMS gave a 4-day window for fee payment after the third list — missing it means the seat moves to the next candidate.
• Document Upload and Verification: Third merit list selected candidates must upload Class 10 and 12 marksheets, a government photo ID, and passport-sized photographs on the NPAT portal within the same window. Verification is done entirely online — no campus visit is needed at any stage.

What is NPAT 2026?

The exam tests candidates on three key areas — Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning — and runs as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) at designated test centres. There is no Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI) round. Admission is purely merit-based on NPAT scores, making it one of the most transparent and straightforward undergraduate entrance processes in the country.

NPAT 2026 Latest Updates: Admission in Final Stage

As of July 2026, the NPAT 2026 admission cycle is in its closing phase. Both exam windows are over, the consolidated merit list has been released, and NMIMS is expected to release the third and final merit list in the last week of July 2026 to fill any remaining seats. After the third merit list, admissions for the 2026–27 academic session will close.

• The Phase 1 Exam Window (February 10 – March 31, 2026) and Phase 2 Exam Window (April 1 – June 1, 2026) are both complete.
• NMIMS declared the NPAT 2026 consolidated merit list on June 22, 2026. Candidates can log in at npat.nmims.edu to view scores, merit rank, and admission status.
• The second merit list was released in mid-July 2026 for seats that remained unfilled after Round 1 of admissions.
• The third and final merit list is expected in the last week of July 2026. This is the last opportunity for admission to NMIMS for the 2026–27 session.

NPAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

You must meet all the eligibility conditions below to be considered for NPAT 2026 admission. NMIMS checks eligibility at the time of admission confirmation, not at the application stage. If you are a Class 12 appearing student, you can register and take the exam — your offer will be provisional until you submit final marksheets showing the required percentage.

Academic Qualification

• You must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) from any recognized board — CBSE, ISC, State Board, IB, or others.
• A minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Class 12 is required across all subjects for admission eligibility.
• For BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Finance, B.Sc. Economics, and BBA (FinTech), Mathematics is a compulsory subject in Class 12.
• For BA (Liberal Arts) at NMIMS, Mathematics is not required — Arts stream students can apply for this program.

Age Limit

• You must be 25 years of age or below at the time of admission for 2026.
• There is no minimum age requirement specified by NMIMS for NPAT.

Nationality

• Indian nationals, NRI candidates, and OCI cardholders can apply for NPAT 2026.
• NRI candidates may be eligible for a separate seat quota with a different fee structure at some NMIMS campuses.

Stream Requirement

• Students from Science, Commerce, and Arts streams are all eligible, subject to the subject-specific requirements noted above.

If your Class 12 final result shows less than 50% aggregate, NMIMS will withdraw any provisional admission offer already made to you, regardless of your NPAT score.

The registration window is now closed for this cycle — Phase 1 registration closed on March 22, 2026, and Phase 2 registration closed on May 26, 2026. How to Apply for NPAT (Step-by-Step)

1. Create an Account: Go to npat.nmims.edu and click "Register". Enter your name, email ID, and mobile number to create a login account.
2. Fill the Application Form: Log in and complete the form with personal details, academic information, and your choice of programs and campuses.
3. Book an Exam Slot: After filling the form, book a test slot at one of the approved test centres. Slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis — booking early gives you more date and centre options.
4. Upload Documents: Upload a scanned passport-size photograph and signature in the required format and dimensions as specified on the portal.
5. Pay the Application Fee: Pay online via credit card, debit card, or net banking. The fee is non-refundable once paid.
6. Submit and Save Confirmation: Submit your application and save your registration number and confirmation. You will need this for all future logins, admit card download, and result access.

NPAT 2026 Application Fee Structure

You can add multiple program-campus choices by paying ₹1,000 per additional choice. This is strongly recommended — adding choices at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or Indore alongside your primary preference at Mumbai costs very little but significantly improves your chances of receiving at least one seat offer. The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

NMIMS does not offer any management quota or direct admission pathway. Any individual or agency claiming to arrange a guaranteed NMIMS seat outside the official NPAT merit process is engaged in fraud.

NPAT tests your speed and accuracy across three sections in a tight 100-minute window — under 50 seconds per question. It is more of a speed and accuracy test than a conceptual depth test. The no-negative-marking policy rewards aggressive, well-practised candidates who attempt all questions without hesitation. Here is a practical section-wise preparation strategy for future NPAT cycles.

Quantitative Reasoning: Build Calculation Speed

• Start with arithmetic — percentage, profit-loss, time-speed-distance, and interest problems are the most frequent topics and can be solved fast with consistent practice.
• Practice Data Interpretation (DI) sets every day. DI questions carry high weightage and are fast to solve once you are comfortable reading tables and graphs under time pressure.
• Revise NCERT Class 10 and 11 Mathematics for algebra, statistics, and probability fundamentals — the exam does not go deeper than Class 12 level.
• Build mental math speed so you avoid wasting precious seconds on rough-work calculations for simple steps.

Logical Reasoning: Practise Puzzles Daily

• Seating arrangements and complex puzzles are the most time-consuming question types in NPAT. Practise at least 2 to 3 full puzzles every day in the weeks before your exam.
• Learn shortcut methods for coding-decoding and blood relation problems so you can solve these in 30 to 45 seconds each.

• Read an English newspaper for 20 to 30 minutes daily. This simultaneously builds vocabulary, improves reading speed, and strengthens comprehension ability.
• Practise Reading Comprehension passages with a timer. You should aim to complete each passage and its questions in 4 to 5 minutes.
• Study vocabulary lists of commonly tested synonyms and antonyms — the NPAT verbal section heavily tests word knowledge in context.
• Revise grammar rules for sentence correction and error identification. These are the easiest marks to gain with a little focused revision.

Overall Strategy for NPAT

• Use all three attempts: NPAT allows up to 3 attempts and counts your best score. There is no penalty for a lower score in a later attempt — use every opportunity available.
• Attempt all 120 questions: No negative marking means a blank answer is a wasted chance. Even an educated guess is worth submitting.
