Radboud University is a public university that provides a strong focus on research. A total of 7 faculties are present at Radboud University. The University at its inception was founded by the Roman Catholic in the year 1655. Currently, there are more than 22,000 students enrolled in Radboud University with 10.7% international students.

  • Currently, there are 38 bachelor’s and 60 master’s programs at the University
  • The application process is an s follows:
    • Firstly, online applications should be submitted at ‘Studielink’, which will direct you to ‘Osiris’-the online application portal of Radboud Unversity.
    • However, international students are required to apply directly via ‘Osiris’
    • Subsequently, applicants are supposed to upload all the supporting materials at ‘Osiris’.
    • The admissions committee check for the completeness of applications and then start with the review process.
    • Following this, applicants are informed about their status of admission.
  • Applicants not meeting the eligibility criteria are offered admission on a conditional basis if they showcase the probability of succeeding academically.
  • Undergraduate (domestic & international) applicants must complete the application process by January 15
  • Non-EEA postgraduate applicants are supposed to apply by April 1, whereas the EEA applicants are required to apply by May 1.

Radboud University Undergraduate Admissions

Radboud University accepts international students in all the courses which are available to be taken. To take a Dutch course you must have complete knowledge of Dutch language while some courses are taught in English where you must have English language proficiency.

The University also allows for combination in possible ways however the same is not allowed in the courses which have different numerous fixes. The applicants have to submit their application through the web form for their application to be submitted. If any of the exams are prerequisites and you do not have a clear idea regarding the cut-off score you may contact the concerned authority through email for the information[3].

The Radboud University accepts undergraduate admission in English and Dutch taught programs both. To qualify to either of them, the basic qualifications remain the same however the language requirements change accordingly[5].

Admission Requirement for International Students:

Keep a check on the admission requirement mentioned below-

  • A diploma is equivalent to a Dutch VWO diploma or a higher level of education. These are scrutinized on the individual level for the application to be accepted.
  • English language proficiency certificate to provide fluency in the language. However, it can be waived off if the language of teaching in previous courses is English itself.
  • Valid proof of nationality
  • All the statements of financial stability and proof.
  • The diploma presented is acceptable by the executive board.
  • Statement of purpose
  • For the Dutch language taught courses the Dutch language fluency is to be checked through various specific programs.

Other Requirements:

  • Make an application to the Radboud University by creating an account.
  • Submit all original scanned copies of certificates of all diplomas, high school education, etc. within 56 days.
  • Submit the statement of purpose.
  • The English language certificate or the Dutch language certificate as required by the course.
  • A sworn translation of all the certificates will also be required.

English/Dutch language Proficiency Test Scores for International Students

The students must provide substantial proof of language proficiency. The scores of the English or Dutch language exam vary from course to course. Hence, the scores are to be seen by the course you want to get enrolled in.

For Dutch-taught programs, applicants need to demonstrate proficiency in the Dutch language by submitting scores of either of the tests mentioned below:

  • Staatsexamen NT2 Programma II
  • Het Profiel Professionele Taalvaardigheid (PPT), het Profiel Taalvaardigheid Hoger Onderwijs (PTHO) of het Profiel Academische Taalvaardigheid (PAT)

The English language test can be relinquished if the previous education was completed in the English language from an accredited University. The same procedure is followed about Dutch language programs and they can be waived off as well if the applicant has completed its previous education from particular institutions[4].

Visa Process for International Students

The visa process will solely depend upon your course and the duration of the stay in the Netherlands. As the Radboud University has ties with the IND hence the Provisional Residence Permit is to be submitted by them on your behalf. Either RVV or MVV visa is provided to the applicant depending upon the duration of the stay. The list of necessary documents required to get the Visa are as follows which must be handed over to the University on or before June 1 or December according to the intakes. The required documents for making visa applications are as follows-

  • A valid proof of nationality.
  • The original certified copies of all the transcripts of previous education done by the applicant to date.
  • A passport size photograph.
  • The statement of all financial undertakings of the person making an application for the visa.
  • Other documents as asked by the University.
