University of Lincoln fees for Indian students in 2026/27 range £16,900 to £22,100 (₹21.50 to ₹28.11 Lakhs) per year for undergraduate courses and £17,600 to £18,800 (₹22.39 to ₹23.91 Lakhs) for postgraduate degrees. The most enrolled Masters options for Indian applicants are MSc Computer Science, MSc International Business, and MSc Data Science and Applied Analytics.

Your realistic entry from India is the January 2027 intake for a Masters or the September 2027 intake for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. UK Student visa processing takes 3 to 8 weeks, so the September 2026 cycle is only workable if you already hold a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, the document needed for the Student visa). The UCAS 2027 cycle (the UK’s centralised undergraduate application system, UG only) opens 2 September 2026, with equal consideration ending 14 January 2027.

Below are the fee anchors you will actually pay for this cycle.

  • Undergraduate tuition (2026/27): £16,900 to £22,100 per year (₹21.50 to ₹28.11 Lakhs).
  • Postgraduate classroom tuition: £17,600 per year (₹22.39 Lakhs), covering MSc International Business and MSc Marketing.
  • Postgraduate lab and STEM tuition: £18,800 per year (₹23.91 Lakhs), covering MSc Computer Science, MSc Artificial Intelligence, and MSc Cloud Computing.
  • Full-payment discount: 5% off tuition if the year’s fee is settled in one lump at registration.
  • India Scholarship: £4,000 (₹5.09 Lakhs) merit reduction, awarded automatically on offer.

The Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarship, JN Tata Endowment loan-scholarship, and KC Mahindra Scholarship windows for September 2027 entry open between November 2026 and February 2027, with dated deadlines that fall in the first quarter of 2027. Specific dates are tracked in the Scholarships section below.

Payment at Lincoln follows a fixed calendar. A £2,000 deposit (₹2.54 Lakhs) is due within 28 days of accepting your unconditional offer and counts toward your first tuition instalment. The remaining tuition is billed 50% at registration and 50% by mid-year, unless you opt for the 5% full-payment discount by paying in full at registration. Bank transfers from India take 3 to 5 working days, so budget that lead time before the deposit deadline on your offer letter.

An MSc year at Lincoln costs an Indian student roughly ₹38 to 46 Lakhs all-in, folding in tuition, living, visa, and IHS. A 3-year BSc totals about ₹1.03 to 1.15 Crore before scholarships.

Exchange rate used throughout: 1 GBP = ₹127.20 (xe.com, 24 July 2026 IST).

January 2027 Intake: Planning Window for Indian Applicants

Intake: The January 2027 PG intake is the next realistic start for Masters applicants from India; January is a Postgraduate-only cycle at Lincoln. September 2027 opens the UG route via UCAS 2027, which begins accepting applications on 2 September 2026.

Fee update: Both the January 2027 PG intake and any remaining September 2026 offers are billed at the 2026/27 rate of £17,600 (₹22.39 Lakhs) classroom or £18,800 (₹23.91 Lakhs) STEM PG. September 2027 shifts to the 2027/28 rate, projected to add roughly £600 per year (₹76,300) on the STEM band.

When to pay: A £2,000 (₹2.54 Lakhs) deposit is due 28 days after offer acceptance and counts toward tuition. Registration then triggers the first instalment (50% of remaining tuition), with the balance due by mid-year. Settling the full year at registration earns a 5% discount, worth up to £940 (₹1.19 Lakhs) on a STEM MSc.

Scholarships: The £4,000 (₹5.09 Lakhs) India Scholarship is awarded automatically on offer. External Indian awards for September 2027 entry (Inlaks, JN Tata, KC Mahindra, Narotam Sekhsaria) open in November 2026 and close between 30 January 2027 and 31 March 2027.

Note: Some MSc titles read as "STEM" but sit inside the £17,600 (₹22.39 Lakhs) classroom band, and some business courses sit inside the STEM band because of a quantitative core. That £1,200 (₹1.53 Lakhs) difference between the two bands is worth confirming with your admissions officer before you accept the offer and pay the deposit. The band shown on your offer letter is the final billed rate for the year.

University of Lincoln Fee Trend Year on Year for Indian Students

University of Lincoln has raised international tuition by 3 to 5% each year for the past five cycles, in line with UK sector average. A PG STEM student starting September 2026 pays roughly £2,600 (₹3.31 Lakhs) more per year than one who started September 2022. The table below tracks the standard PG STEM rate, which is the most-applied band by Indian students.

Source: University of Lincoln International Fees and Funding archives. 2027/28 figure is a one-year projection based on the 5-year compounded increase, not the university’s published rate.

Key Insight: Lock the 2026/27 rate by taking the January 2027 PG intake. January 2027 entrants pay £18,800 (₹23.91 Lakhs) on the STEM band; waiting for September 2027 moves you to the 2027/28 rate, projected to add roughly £600 per year (₹76,300) on the STEM band and about £700 (₹89,000) on the MBA. Over a 1-year Masters that is one avoidable payment; over a 3-year BSc it compounds three times.

Cost of Living in Lincoln for University of Lincoln Students

Living in Lincoln costs an Indian student between £880 and £1,213 (₹1.12 to ₹1.54 Lakhs) per month, which is 30 to 40% cheaper than London, Manchester, or Edinburgh. The city is compact, largely walkable, and served by student-friendly on-campus accommodation within 10 minutes of most lecture halls on the Brayford Pool campus.

Source: University of Lincoln Accommodation portal 2026/27; UKVI maintenance requirement £1,136/month outside London.

Note: The UK Home Office requires you to show £1,136 (₹1.44 Lakhs) per month for 9 months of living costs when applying for the Student visa (outside-London rate). That equals £10,224 (₹13.00 Lakhs) held in a certified bank account for 28 consecutive days before you apply. This is a visa proof requirement, not what you will spend, and it must sit separately from tuition and IHS in your funds evidence.

Living choice makes the biggest single controllable dent in your Lincoln budget. Moving from on-campus en-suite halls to a shared 3-bed off-campus house saves roughly £120 (₹15,264) per month, which adds up to £1,440 (₹1.83 Lakhs) across a 12-month Masters year. Second-year UGs typically move off-campus for exactly this reason.

Currency Tip: No payment is due to Lincoln until you accept your offer for this intake cycle. Set up a Wise or Niyo forex card now and load GBP whenever the rate dips below ₹127.50; it saves 2 to 3% versus a wire transfer from your bank branch. Lock at least the £2,000 (₹2.54 Lakhs) deposit before your offer’s stated deadline, and lock full tuition ahead of your registration date, not on it.

The all-in Year 1 cost of University of Lincoln for an Indian student is roughly ₹37.47 to 46.55 Lakhs for taught Masters and ₹34.34 to 43.76 Lakhs for undergraduate courses, depending on programme band and living choice. Both figures fold in tuition, 10 or 12 months of living costs, the £524 (₹66,653) Student visa fee, and one year of the £776 (₹98,707) IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge, paid upfront with the Student visa application).

Full-programme totals: a 1-year MSc lands at ₹38 to 46 Lakhs before scholarships; a 3-year BSc totals ₹1.03 to 1.15 Crore. Financed at ₹40 Lakhs on a 10-year education loan at 10.5% interest, your monthly EMI works out to roughly ₹54,000; a ₹1 Crore UG loan translates to about ₹1.35 Lakhs per month. Section 80E of the Income Tax Act lets you deduct the entire interest paid on that education loan for up to 8 years from taxable income.

Key Insight: The £4,000 (₹5.09 Lakhs) India Scholarship is applied automatically on your Lincoln offer letter. Add the 5% full-payment discount (up to £940 or ₹1.19 Lakhs on a £18,800 STEM MSc) and you shave ₹6.28 Lakhs off Year 1 without applying for anything. Lock both by paying tuition in full at registration for the January 2027 intake, before the second instalment date passes.

Hidden Costs of Studying at University of Lincoln for Indian Students

Beyond tuition and rent, Year 1 at Lincoln carries roughly £2,000 to 3,200 (₹2.54 to 4.07 Lakhs) in one-off and irregular costs that most Indian families budget for late. The most time-sensitive item for the January 2027 intake is the IHS, which must be paid in full when you submit your visa application, not billed later by Lincoln.

  • UK Student visa fee: £524 (₹66,653), paid to UKVI at online application. Non-refundable if refused.
  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £776 (₹98,707) per visa year, paid in one instalment before biometrics for the full length of your visa plus 4 months. A 12-month MSc student typically pays £1,164 (₹1.48 Lakhs) upfront.
  • IELTS or PTE test: IELTS costs ₹17,000; a retake if you miss the 6.0 band is another ₹17,000. PTE Academic (65 minimum 59 for band 6.0) is ₹15,900.
  • Flight and initial setup: One-way Delhi to London to Lincoln typically £550 to 800 (₹70,000 to 1.02 Lakhs). Bedding, kitchen basics, and warm clothing add another ₹40,000 to 60,000.
  • International bank transfer fees: ₹1,500 to 3,000 per Indian bank branch transfer, plus a 2 to 4% forex margin. A Wise or Niyo forex card cuts this to under 1%.
  • ATAS certificate (select STEM PG only): £24 (₹3,053), required for some MSc Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing streams before the visa is issued.
  • Winter clothing (Lincoln winters average 3 to 7°C): ₹15,000 to 25,000 for coat, gloves, and boots. Cheaper bought in Lincoln at Primark and Sports Direct once you arrive.

Budget approximately ₹2.75 to 4.20 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs above tuition, living, and the two headline visa items.

Note: The IHS is the hidden cost families most often forget. It is £776 (₹98,707) per visa year, paid upfront in one lump when you submit the online visa application, not to Lincoln and not in instalments. A 15-month MBA visa attracts roughly £1,552 (₹1.97 Lakhs) IHS. Keep it in a liquid Rupee balance before you begin the visa process.

Fee Saving Strategies at University of Lincoln for Indian Students

The single highest-value saving lever for the January 2027 PG intake is the £4,000 (₹5.09 Lakhs) India Scholarship stacked with the 5% full-payment discount; for September 2027 entrants, adding a JN Tata or KC Mahindra loan-scholarship on top layers a further ₹8 to 10 Lakhs cushion. The steps below shave the most Rupees off your Lincoln bill in order of controllability.

  • Take the full-payment discount: Settling the year’s tuition at registration saves 5%, worth up to £940 (₹1.19 Lakhs) on a STEM MSc and £1,105 (₹1.41 Lakhs) on the MBA.
  • Move off-campus from Year 2 (UG): Shared 3-bed housing in the Bailgate or Ermine areas cuts rent by roughly £120 (₹15,264) per month, saving ₹1.83 Lakhs across a 12-month cycle.
  • Work 20 hours per week during term: The UK Student visa permits 20 hrs/week during term; Lincoln minimum wage of £12.21 per hour (₹1,553) yields around £980 per month (₹1.25 Lakhs). Full-time (40 hrs) is allowed in vacation weeks.
  • Claim Section 80E on your education loan: The full interest paid on an education loan is deductible from taxable income for up to 8 years. On a ₹40 Lakhs loan at 10.5%, this saves roughly ₹1.5 to 2.5 Lakhs in taxes over the deduction window.
  • Verify your fee band before accepting: Some MSc titles read as "STEM" but sit in the £17,600 (₹22.39 Lakhs) classroom band. Confirming with admissions before paying the deposit can lock in a £1,200 (₹1.53 Lakhs) saving per year.
  • Use the UK Graduate Route visa: A Masters degree from Lincoln currently qualifies you for the Graduate Route, which is 2 years of unrestricted post-study work in the UK. Salary offset at UK graduate rates (approx £28,000 per year or ₹35.62 Lakhs) recovers most of the tuition inside 18 months of graduation.

Tip for Indian Students: The single highest-value lever for the January 2027 intake is stacking the automatic £4,000 (₹5.09 Lakhs) India Scholarship with the 5% full-payment discount at registration. That combined ₹6.28 Lakhs saving arrives without a separate application, requires only that you pay tuition in one lump on registration day, and applies to every PG student on offer. Add the Graduate Route salary offset, and the effective net cost of your MSc drops by roughly 40 to 50% inside two years of graduation.

A Masters at University of Lincoln from India costs an all-in ₹38 to 46 Lakhs in Year 1, and a 3-year BSc totals ₹1.03 to 1.15 Crore before scholarships. The automatic £4,000 (₹5.09 Lakhs) India Scholarship plus the 5% full-payment discount reduces your PG bill by ₹6.28 Lakhs without a separate application. Financed at ₹40 Lakhs on a 10-year education loan at 10.5%, your EMI settles near ₹54,000 per month, with Section 80E deducting interest for up to 8 years. Applicants targeting the January 2027 intake should lock the £2,000 (₹2.54 Lakhs) deposit before their offer expires and pay tuition in full at registration; September 2027 UG applicants should submit UCAS as soon as the 2027 cycle opens on 2 September 2026 and time external scholarship applications for the Narotam Sekhsaria (30 January 2027), Inlaks (12 March 2027), and JN Tata (21 March 2027) windows.

  • I'm doing a PhD here. SO got a good exposure of research and also got to attend a lot of conferences and events for networking purposes. The timings completely depend on you according to your research work. (Generally, it's 8/9 am to 4/5 pm.)

  • Online platforms and university accommodation are good. Monthly rent depends on what type of room you choose.
  • For sharing apartments, it will cost you around 500 pounds per month. and they have everything, such as induction, toaster, microwave, oven, fridge, freezer, hot and cold water, tv, games room, etc. Kindly check each accommodation online.
