  • Four Business School MSc routes use £30,600 (INR 39.74 Lakhs) for one year.
  • The MBA lasts 12 months, so its published fee is already a full-course tuition figure.
  • Each full-course figure assumes the published rate remains unchanged during the stated duration.

Indicative full-course tuition uses current published rates at unchanged current rates. It is not a future-fee forecast.

Note: Newcastle separates the MBA from the standard Business School MSc fee route. Use the MBA’s £33,250 (INR 43.18 Lakhs) figure once, not twice.

Newcastle University Undergraduate Fees: 2026/27

Five UG routes range from £24,500 (INR 31.82 Lakhs) to £30,700 (INR 39.87 Lakhs) per year.

Tuition is published as Year 1 tuition, and each selected UG course lasts three years full time. BA means Bachelor of Arts and BSc means Bachelor of Science.

BEng means Bachelor of Engineering, and LLB means Bachelor of Laws.

  • English Literature has the lowest listed UG tuition at £24,500 (INR 31.82 Lakhs) per year.
  • Mechanical Engineering is the outlier at £30,700 (INR 39.87 Lakhs) per year.
  • The three-year amounts multiply Year 1 tuition by three at unchanged current rates.
  • Actual later-year invoices may differ because Newcastle publishes annual fee updates.

Indicative full-course tuition uses three years of the published Year 1 rate at unchanged current rates. It is not a fee projection.

Note: Mechanical Engineering sits above the classroom routes. Compare its £30,700 (INR 39.87 Lakhs) annual fee separately.

Newcastle University Fee Trend by Year for Indian Students

Newcastle’s international UG benchmark rose from £22,000 (INR 28.57 Lakhs) in 2022/23. It reached £26,400 (INR 34.29 Lakhs) in 2026/27.

This history supports timing decisions, but it does not set the unpublished September 2027 fee.

The table uses one UG classroom benchmark, not every subject’s rate. Year-on-year (YoY) percentages are calculated from consecutive published figures.

Fee yearUG benchmark (GBP)UG benchmark (INR)YoY %

  • The benchmark increased £4,400 (INR 5.71 Lakhs) across four annual moves.
  • The largest single rise was £1,200 (INR 1.56 Lakhs) between 2023/24 and 2024/25.
  • September 2027 applicants should not convert this history into a guessed 2027/28 invoice.
  • Use the latest published fee-year until Newcastle releases the next official rate, then rerun totals.

Key Insight: September 2026 is closed after 14 August 2026, while September 2027 remains the next actionable route. Apply using 2026/27 comparison rates, then replace them when the 2027/28 offer rate appears.

Cost of Living in Newcastle upon Tyne for Indian Students

Newcastle University’s published benchmark is £1,155 (INR 1.50 Lakhs) per month. Twelve months equal £13,860 (INR 18.00 Lakhs).

On-campus means university-managed housing, while off-campus means a private lease. Compare halls first, then assess Jesmond or Heaton for commute, bills, deposit, and lease length.

  • University halls provide the clearest first comparison because room availability and lease terms are university-controlled.
  • Jesmond and Heaton are named private locations, not verified cheaper alternatives.
  • Private leases can add a deposit, utility bills, and a longer contract than the course period.
  • Keep £55 (INR 7,143) monthly for transport when housing is not within walking distance.

Source: Newcastle University living-cost and accommodation guidance.

Note: The £1,155 (INR 1.50 Lakhs) figure is a monthly benchmark. It excludes tuition, the Student Visa, the Immigration Health Surcharge, deposits, and travel.

Use a twelve-month budget for a taught PG course because the dissertation can extend beyond teaching. A ten-month figure suits a narrow UG term-time comparison, not a full housing contract.

Currency Tip: September 2027 applicants should reserve the first housing payment before 2 August 2027. Newcastle’s 2026/27 Data Science comparison is £31,700 (INR 41.17 Lakhs). A 2 to 3% transfer saving is roughly INR 82,000 to INR 1.23 Lakhs.

Total Cost of Studying at Newcastle University for Indian Students

Data Science MSc totals £45,360 (INR 58.91 Lakhs) with ten-month living. Fourteen months raise the budget to £50,030 (INR 64.97 Lakhs).

The representative PG route uses twelve months centrally. Newcastle publishes one £1,155 (INR 1.50 Lakhs) monthly benchmark. Data Science MSc is the worked example for these calculations.

  • UG mandatory fees include £558 (INR 72,467) plus four IHS years at £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs).
  • Tuition deposits reduce tuition when the offer rule says they are deducted, so they are not added again.
  • Totals exclude airfare, private housing deposits, setup costs, and later-year tuition changes.
  • IHS is shown as a one-year comparison component, but the actual charge is paid upfront for the visa duration.

At unchanged current rates, Business Management BA Honours reaches £115,562 (INR 1.50 Crore) across three years. Mechanical Engineering reaches £130,412 (INR 1.69 Crore) on the same basis.

These comparisons include three-year living, the current Student Visa, and IHS charges.

An equated monthly instalment (EMI) for a £50,000 (INR 64.94 Lakhs) loan is near INR 67,500 monthly. The calculation uses 10.5% interest over ten years.

A INR 1 Crore loan at the same terms costs approximately INR 1.35 Lakhs monthly.

Key Insight: Data Science could save £10,000 (INR 12.99 Lakhs) through India Future Leaders. A 1.5% full-payment discount equals £475.50 (INR 61,753) on £31,700 (INR 41.17 Lakhs). Ask Newcastle whether both reductions can stack, then lock the approved saving before the next instalment.

Newcastle University Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

Newcastle uses course-specific deposits. Selected taught PG routes require £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs). The MBA requires £1,500 (INR 1.95 Lakhs).

The deposit normally reduces tuition when the offer rule says it is deducted. Refund terms differ, so the offer letter controls the exact September 2027 liability.

  • Newcastle’s international payment provider is Flywire, alongside bank transfer routes.
  • Bank transfer means a telegraphic transfer from an Indian bank to the university account.
  • A forex card or Flywire can save 2 to 3% against a raw wire, depending on the day’s spread.
  • Education-loan disbursement should reference the offer, invoice, and student number.

After the deposit, Newcastle may issue a CAS, Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, once its conditions are met. The CAS supports the Student Visa application.

Steps to pay the tuition fee for international students:

  1. Accept the Newcastle offer and complete every condition.
  2. Pay the course deposit through Flywire or the approved bank route.
  3. Receive the CAS after Newcastle records the required payment and documents.
  4. Pay the balance using the instalment schedule in the offer.
  5. Keep every payment receipt for the Student Visa and loan file.

The remaining tuition can be split into 50% at registration and 50% at the later instalment date stated by Newcastle. Paying the full annual fee can earn a 1.5% discount when the offer terms allow it.

Note: For September 2027, release the £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs) deposit within six weeks of the offer. Allow 5 to 7 business days for an Indian bank transfer to clear.

Hidden Costs of Studying at Newcastle University

Chevening closes on 6 October 2026 at 16:30 IST, making scholarship submission the most time-sensitive hidden funding decision.

  • Student Visa: The application charge is £558 (INR 72,467) for an application outside the United Kingdom.
  • Immigration Health Surcharge: IHS costs £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) per visa year and is paid upfront.
  • English test retake: Keep INR 17,000 available if an IELTS or equivalent retake becomes necessary.
  • Bank transfer charges: Indian banks may add intermediary and outward-remittance charges to each wire.
  • Housing setup: Private housing can require a deposit, bedding, kitchen items, and utility activation.
  • Seasonal clothing: Budget separately for a winter coat and waterproof footwear after arrival.

Cash Needed Before Arrival

Data Science MSc needs at least £4,760 (INR 6.18 Lakhs) before arrival. This covers the deposit, visa, full IHS, and first accommodation payment.

Data Science MSc deposit£2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs)Counts toward tuition, so it is not added twice.
Student Visa£558 (INR 72,467)Separate immigration charge.

Minimum before-arrival cash£4,760 (INR 6.18 Lakhs)Excludes airfare, tuition balance, and variable setup costs.

Source: Newcastle University offer and accommodation guidance, GOV.UK Student Visa rates.

Budget approximately INR 6.18 to 8.00 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs. This excludes airfare and recurring living expenses.

Note: Families often miss the IHS because it is not tuition. A one-year PG route can require £1,552 (INR 2.02 Lakhs) upfront for two visa years.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students at Newcastle University

The urgent September 2027 saving action is Chevening, which closes on 6 October 2026 at 16:30 IST. The university’s 2 August 2027 award deadline remains the next major funding date.

  • Submit Chevening: Full tuition, living support, and travel can remove the largest funding burden for an eligible PG applicant.
  • Use university halls first: Compare the £650 (INR 84,416) monthly accommodation benchmark before signing a private lease.
  • Work within Student Visa rules: Eligible students can work up to 20 hours weekly during term.
  • Use Section 80E: Section 80E is an Indian Income-tax Act deduction for qualifying education-loan interest.
  • Check the fee band: Computing tuition is £31,700 (INR 41.17 Lakhs). It is £1,100 (INR 1.43 Lakhs) above Business School MSc tuition.
  • Plan the Graduate Route: Applications from 1 January 2027 receive 18 months. Applications by 31 December 2026 receive two years.

The £10,000 (INR 12.99 Lakhs) India Future Leaders award is the largest listed university award. Submit early enough to meet its 2 August 2027 offer and deposit deadline.

Tip for Indian Students: Chevening is the highest-value September 2027 saving lever. Submit by 6 October 2026 at 16:30 IST. Retain Newcastle’s £10,000 (INR 12.99 Lakhs) award as a fallback.

Is Newcastle University Worth the Cost for Indian Students

Newcastle University costs £47,670 (INR 61.91 Lakhs) for the central one-year Data Science budget. Its MBA reports 85% in work or further study after 15 months.

Newcastle University ranks 149th in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2027. That ranking offers global context. The MBA outcome covers one programme.

The MBA evidence does not provide a median graduate salary. Therefore, an EMI should be tested against a confirmed offer, not an assumed payback period.

A £50,000 (INR 64.94 Lakhs) education loan produces an EMI near INR 67,500 monthly. Compare it with the actual salary offer after tax and living costs.

Source: Newcastle University MBA outcomes page and QS World University Rankings 2027.

Key Insight: Newcastle becomes financially defensible when the £10,000 (INR 12.99 Lakhs) India Future Leaders award is secured. Without that award or Chevening, test the INR 61.91 Lakhs central PG budget against a written employment outcome.

Rankings decision: compare Newcastle University rankings and subject positions

September 2026 entry closed after 14 August 2026, making September 2027 practical. Data Science’s central budget is INR 61.91 Lakhs before scholarships. India Future Leaders can reduce tuition by INR 12.99 Lakhs. A INR 50 Lakhs loan carries EMI near INR 67,500 monthly. Replace comparison rates when Newcastle publishes 2027/28 tuition.

  • I thought it was an amazing blend of theoretical, practical, interactive, and engaging coursework. I will be honest, the transition from an Indian classroom to a world-class university is a little difficult. However, if you are curious, open-minded, and are coming into the course with a mindset to elevate yourself by completely engaging with the course, I think it's not that difficult to crack how you need to work. And there are so many sessions dedicated to international students to help you with your transition to the new education system. There are plenty of resources available, but it's up to you to ask questions and make use of those resources. I also found that people are always willing to help; all you have to do is ask.
  • What stood out to me is how engaging the coursework is. When you do your assignments, projects, or presentations, you are engaging with real-life case studies and companies to complete your coursework. I enjoyed the fact that it is not all by heart and writing things from your memory. What you learn sticks throughout your life. This was and is useful to you when you step into your job.
  • There are only 3 classes maximum scheduled in a day. And you have classes 4 times a week on average. I had around 40 students in my class, and I only had two other Indian batch mates. Some courses had more Indian students than mine. The only problem I faced was that, in my second semester, some classes used to end as late as 6:30, which was a bit difficult, and when you have classes back-to-back in different buildings, it's a little bit difficult to get from one lecture to another.

Fees

  • £28000 for my tuition fees, divided across two semesters, but with a scholarship, it came down to £24000. I paid £2000 to secure my offer and place at the university. There is no credit-based system across the university. However, since I struggled to pay my second sem fees, I requested an installment plan and was able to pay monthly fees towards my tuition, but that happened only once. Normally, they expect you to pay the first half at the start of the first semester (as soon as you join) and the rest at the start of the second semester (last week of January).
  • For my accommodation, I applied early for the uni accommodation, and I only paid £392 per month as rent for 12 months I stayed there, which is inclusive of electric, water, heater, and wifi bills. This was the cheapest but the best accommodation I have lived in the UK, as the university has great accommodation standards, even for the cheaper accommodations.

  • The syllabus for the course I had done was very up to date. Unfortunately, i did my Master's from 2020-21. So, a lot of the teaching was impacted. For ex. as part of a module (Corporate Finance), I was to have a week of simulated trading in an actual trading room. However, we never go that exposure and other such experiences.
  • We typically had 2 lectures, and 1 seminar at the beginning of the week. As we moved towards the weekend, we had more of seminars and work shops as lectures.
  • We had 25-30 for most modules apart from Accounts in which there were 60

Fees

  • Fee was 20,500 gbp .

  • Many students secure full time jobs within 6 months after completing the course, especially in cybersecurity roles like SOC Analyst, Security Consultant or Risk Analyst. The average starting salary ranges from 25000 to 35000 GBP/year with some roles going higher depending on experience.
  • Jobs are usually found through LinkedIn, job portals , career fairs and the university's career services. Networking , internships and certifications can also help boost chances.

  • It is quite difficult. Because it has written exams more. We do have assignments but comparatively fewer.
  • Positive aspects: practical experience on data, computing lab sessions to get hands-on practice.
  • Negative aspects: more of written exams.
  • Maximum two classes. Minimum one class. Usually it will start around 11:30 am and last around 2 hours.
  • So the usual timings are,
    • 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
    • 12:30 am to 2:30 pm
    • 3:30pm to 5:30pm
    • and the seminars will be for one hour.
  • The average number of students is 50. In my class, 8 Indian students are there.

Fees

  • The tuition fee was 28900 GBP. I got the university's scholarship worth 4000 GBP. So, I have paid 24900 GBP for my tuition fee. I'm living in private accommodation, so hostel fees are not included.
  • It is annually and semi-annually. I have taken a bank loan to fund my fees so I have paid in full before travelling to the UK.
  • My expenses are as follows:
    • Food: 200 GBP
    • Transportation: 40 GBP
    • Rent: 500 GBP

  • It is not difficult at all. It is the perfect blend of theory and real life practice. Positive aspects of the course is that it teaches how to manage time efficiently for yourself as individual learning is 70% and lecture learning is only 30%
  • I believe allowing that space in a students life can either motivate them or demotivate them. For me it acted as a motivator because I was able to take part in extra curricular activities.
  • Negative aspects of my course would be the number of people in one class. There are 200-300 people in one class which may sometimes mean lacking individual focus.
  • There are barely any Indian students in my class. It is just me and one guy. Bit in finance courses and MBA there are a lot more Indian students.

Fees

  • Received a 4k pounds scholarship from every year's tuition fee.
The fee structure was as follows: 20000 for programme
    7000 for accommodation
    400 per month for living

  • The fees is charged through an online portal. It can be submitted for one year directly or be split in for two semesters. Transportation costs are not much for Newcastle if you live in the city centre, every place is within walking distance. Other regular expenses like groceries cost me around $ 30 per week.

  • Level of Difficulty is medium and courses are more focused on Practical or Industry knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge.
  • Positive aspects of my course are the way modules are organized and the teaching methodology. Negative aspect of my course, it is fast- paced and sometimes it is difficult for students from Non programming backgrounds to understand the concept.
  • You have one lecture and one practical scheduled everyday from Monday to Friday. In Newcastle University there is a career team which helps you in preparing for jobs and there is University job portal where all different jobs were listed.

Fees

  • For my course the total fees was £30600 for 2024 batch which include 1500 as a confirmation fee.
  • University accommodation starts from £98 per week and it depends on your choice of accommodation.
  • You can submit your fees in 3 installments or in one time.
  • It is advisable to walk as all locations are nearby and to save transportation cost but if you choose to travel by bus then single journey cost is £2 and £6 for full day. Apart from that £80 per month needed for other expenses.

  • The difficulty level was from moderate to difficult. It was a good balance of theoretical and practical approach.
  • Positive aspects included - real time projects and hands on and detailed module teaching.
Negative aspect - was the timeline and the deadline, as masters is 11 months course - the deadlines were really strict and close.Ususally 3-4 classes are scheduled, with a mix of practical and theory, and it ususally is flexible between 9am to 5pm.
  • The course content and teaching approach is set to high and satisfactory standards, but apart from those there are so many factors that you need to prepare for securing a job in the field and it ultimately comes down to you as a student and a person.

Fees

  • Tuition fees for the first year of the course: £24,300 (Band 2)
  • I was in receipt of a £4,000 VCIS scholarship and a 2% reduction for early payment of fees.
  • I was staying in a private accommodation (studio apartment) and my charges were £168 per week and my booking was for 51 weeks.
  • Regular expenses differ and it depends on every person and the way of living.
  • Students could get a bus pass and could get upto 40% discount on the monthly or yearly pass.
