Course Curriculum

- The course is moderate to difficult here and there are not much in calss exams, and there is a lot of practical stuff that people teach here. The classes I typically have in a week is like 3 days each day 2 hours and no need to worry about the course work a lot. There are like 30 students in a class in graduate classes and more in computer science.
Admission Experience
- UNT is one of the best R1 universities in Texas, located in North Texas. The best part about it is my professor here. She is really awesome and friendly. She is a good researcher with a great background in the subject she is working on, and she mentors students in a great way. I like her mentoring style, and all the faculty in biomedical engineering are really nice.
- I had applied to Wayne State University, and it is accepted. I didn’t go there because of high fees in the United States, and they charge a lot for international students, and there are not many scholarships available. The place ehere wayne is really cold and not accessible to Indian grocery and stuff. Wayne is usually cold for 6-9 months, and it's close to Canada.
- I applied for the fall intake. The general admission deadline is jan 31 for fall intake, and people can apply around that time. The admission is reviewed after 15 days from the graduate school and department, and then they are accepted.After acceptance, students need to submit official transcripts mailed or evaluated and later after arrival, you can submit transcripts and original degree too!
Faculty

- The faculty to student ratio is 10:1, and there are a lot of faculty who host office hours and question and answer sessions. Yes, faculty help in part-time jobs and graduate assistant positions on campus, and they also give letters of recommendation. I admire Dr Melanie Ecker. She is really nice and awesome with students. I love her teaching style, which is really sweet.
Campus Life

- University of North Texas has 2 campus which is main campus and the other one is discovery park and discovery park is about 5 miles away from the main campus in which we can commute by bus, which is like far distance and free of cost and take like 30 minutes of time for one way.UNT has a lot of extracurricular activities with the Pohl Recreational Centre and there are other clubs available on campus
Part Time Jobs
- The research assistant and teaching assistant opportunities are available for students who perform well and having good GPA in the semester. So the way to get RA is to reach out to faculty with expressed interest in their research and also the faculty or department should have requirement for students. As per the F1 visa rules, the students can work on part time like 20 hours per week.
- The most of the Indian students work in on campus dining which offers 10 per hour and max they can earn like 800 per month and there are good paying part times jobs available in library and offices too which are high paying like 15-20 and people can apply part time jobs through UNT handshake portal where all the recuiters post the job requirements.
Placement

- To be honest, the placement and getting a job really depend on the individual potential of the student who is working and also more likely on the person who did the coursework nicely. So I would say people can explore handshake and like a lot of companies. All my friends were almost settled, 90% of people got their jobs and they got good packages in companies like Abbot, Novartis, and Eurofins.
Accommodation
Off Campus

- I found accommodation through the apartment websites, which is better, and alternatively, I can find it through Apartments.com and the campus housing from the university website, which gives a list of all the apartments with lease terms and rent. I would like to recommend that the students stay in Rayzor Ranch rather than near the union, because these apartments are old.
Exams
- IELTS which is English language exam mandatory for admission and also they beeed statement of purpose for the couese which you study and also 3 letter of recommendations for application evaluation. Cv is necessary in order to evaluate the profile in order to give admission. There is no interview for most of the applicants excluding the people applying first business school.
Fees
- UNT fees are like 10000 dollars per semester for 9 credits in the graduate student category. Usually, the fees are charged for tuition, classes, infrastructure and facilities like transport, sports and gym. UNT fees can be paid in instalments too. The monthly expenses on average for an international student are basically around 1000-1200 dollars, the rent is 600-700, and the rest is food plus utilities.
Scholarship
- I received a college of engineering scholarship, which is competitive-based. Every year UNT opens a lot of scholarships, like 400 thousand dollars. These scholarships can be applied every time using the Eagle Scholarship Portal, and each departments list their own scholarships here, and people can apply it with their own documents and statements. There are good options: if people receive CSW, they get a TGS waiver.
