University at Buffalo
Life as a UB CSE Graduate
Ranking and low tuition. Also, the location seemed better. I have an interest in AI, and this college has a very good course work for it. The UB alums group is huge and holds a lot of value if you are a UB Graduate.
It's very hectic. I have to take 4 courses each semester. It's a lot of work and I can't get time for anything else. It's very tough managing these courses. You have to be on your game. There are at least 4 submissions a month.
The exam structure depends on every course. Some courses have midterms and some don't. Some courses have assignments and some don't. Some courses have finals and some don't. It's totally depending on the course.
It's okay. There are some good professors and some okay. Some professors don't even speak good English. So it's very difficult to understand. You don't learn a lot when you have such hectic courses.
There are a lot of fees and charges. Some go to the graduate assistant, some for the UB bus, some for the health insurance, some for campus maintenance. The overall cost sums up to be 14K.
Monthly Expense : $500 - $1500
