The exercises reward reading the poems closely rather than learning a summary. Question 4 in particular asks about मीरा's भाषा शैली, so the कवि परिचय page matters as much as the pads.

A Reading Plan for मीरा के पद
Work through the file in passes. Two pads look short, but the second one moves quickly from one image of सेवा to the next, and the spelling slows most students down before the sense does.
- Read both pads aloud once. These are songs, not written verse, so the tune carries the meaning before the words do.
- Take the शब्दार्थ page next, because words like भीर, कुंजर and पास्यूँ are not modern Hindi
- Sort the first pad by its four rescue stories: द्रौपदी, नरहरि for प्रह्लाद, and the गजराज saved from the crocodile
- List every job मीरा offers in the second pad, since question 5 asks for exactly that
- Only then attempt प्रश्न-अभ्यास (ख), which wants the काव्य-सौंदर्य of three specific passages
Why मीरा's Words Mix ब्रज, राजस्थानी and गुजराती
Students often stall on म्हाने, पास्यूँ and बिंदरावन because none of them match the Hindi they write in school. That is expected. मीरा sang in the speech around her, and she moved between मेवाड़ and वृंदावन.
- Her pads mix राजस्थानी, ब्रज and गुजराती, with पंजाबी, खड़ी बोली and पूर्वी turning up as well
- बिंदरावन is वृंदावन, म्हाने is मुझे, and री stands in for की right through the first pad
- Her भक्ति is of दैन्य and माधुर्य भाव, shaped by योगी, संत and वैष्णव influences together
- She is counted a poet of both Hindi and Gujarati, and her pads are sung as far as बिहार and बंगाल
