Ques. I cannot access my GATE 2021 Candidate login page. What should I do?
Ans. There can be a couple of reasons for facing such problems during GATE 2021 login.
- Check if the GATE 2021 login credentials you have entered are correct. If you had written the credentials down at any point then cross-check with that now.
- Check your internet connection and see if you have a stable bandwidth at the time of logging in.
- The GATE login servers might have been temporarily taken down due to heavy traffic or technical issues. Try to login again after a couple of hours.
- If the problem still persists, immediately contact the exam conducting authorities at their given helpline.
Ques. What is the expected GATE cutoff 2021?
Ans. GATE Cutoff changes every year depending on the difficulty of the paper and the number of candidates taking the exam. If you see the last 3 years CS cutoff for the general category, it is 28.5 (2020), 29.5(2019) and 25(2018). Gate 2019 was easier among the three but Gate 2020 was almost as tough as Gate 2018 still the cutoff is higher in the former. The reason for this is that more coaching classes are popping up every year, meaning that more students are better prepared for the exam, thus GATE has to increase the barrier for the cutoff. So, focus on doing your best in the exam instead of worrying about last year’s cutoffs.
Ques. What is considered a good score in GATE 2021?
Ans. A score below 200 is considered best to be eligible for admissions in IIT through GATE 2021. However, students with scores from 200-400 might also be eligible to apply for admissions in IITs. On the other hand for admissions to NITs on the basis of GATE 2021, scores ranging from 350-800 are considered to be good scores for admission.

Ans. GATE scores are calculated using the following formula:

where, M= marks obtained in GATE (actual marks for single session papers and normalized marks for multati-session papers)
Mq= Qualifying marks for general category candidate in GATE paper
Mt= Mean of marks of top 0.1% or top 10 (whichever is larger) of candidates who appeared for GATE (in case of multi-session papers including all sessions)
Sq= 350, is the score assigned to Mq
St= 900, is the score assigned to Mt
