Varinda Anand is the Grooming Head and Aviation Consultant at Aksa International. Since 2017, she has worked with top airlines such as Indigo Airlines. She holds a Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality, Travel and Customer Services along with a Bachelor of Commerce from MCM DAV College. Varinda was awarded the Best Grooming – Female and On Time Employee of the Year.
How has your experience been so far with the institute and the aviation Industry?
My name is Varinda Anand. I was born and raised in Chandigarh and settled in Indore. I was 18 years old when I started flying with Indigo Airlines as a cabin attendant. I have flown in both domestic and international sectors for about five years. After that, I was privileged to get the opportunity to be part of Aksa International as a Grooming Head, where I got the platform to share my practical knowledge and expertise with the upcoming cabin crew aspirants. It’s been three years with the institute and as of now, I have trained students all across the globe who aspire to be part of the aviation industry.
What are your roles and responsibilities?
In my current position as the Grooming Head at Aksa International, my major role and responsibilities are to look after the students for their overall personality development. I work at providing communication and soft skills training. Additionally, I provide workshops and training in customer service to keep the students abreast of all new requirements and procedures. I also instruct them on how to demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment and give first-aid training to the students. Once the student becomes a part of our institution, the first and foremost responsibility is to groom the students as per industry standards, which includes dressing them right for the occasion and teaching them how to take care of their bodily appearances.
What skills do you offer in your institute to the students to train themselves as per the industry standards?
At Aksa International, our motive is not only to make our students eligible for jobs but also to provide and equip them with valuable skills and knowledge which will help them in their future career growth. Our personal mission statement is to provide professionals in the Aviation and Customer Service industries with a destination for their career growth, allowing them to connect and discover new opportunities. In my opinion, the aviation industry offers a lot of growth and employment opportunities to our young and talented generation since it is the largest growing industry. We at Aksa always aim to generate more employment opportunities for every individual to make them financially stable and independent.

What modules do you teach in the institute?
Our Aviation certification course is a comprehensive course covering various modules such as grooming, communication skills, foreign languages like French, aviation, hospitality, ground duty operations and customer service. I, particularly, teach grooming and aviation language. Grooming plays a very vital role in the overall development of the candidate's personality and bodily appearance. Aviation language, on the other hand, makes a student well-equipped with aviation knowledge covering how to deal with situations like emergencies and makes them situationally aware as per industry standards.
What do you think is the greatest strength of your institute?
Since Aksa stands for Academy of Knowledge, Skills and Attitude, we firmly believe in giving practical training and knowledge to our students through our well-experienced training team of trainers from different industries. We also believe in nurturing our students with not only grooming and communication skills but also the skills and qualities that are required to be part of this industry. This, we believe, is our institution's biggest strength of all the strengths.
What are the placement opportunities available in your institute?
Our institute has been awarded the highest placement award consecutively for the last few years. We are also recognised as the first institute in Indore, MP, to conduct the campus placement drive for Akasa Air in 2023. Along with this, our institute offers huge opportunities from across the globe in various hospitality, aviation and customer service industries.
