HIMS Lucknow MS FAQs
Ques. Is the total fee of ₹75,74,703 for MS at HIMS Lucknow justified given it is a private medical college?
Ans. HIMS Lucknow is a private NMC-approved medical college affiliated to RMLAU. Like most private medical colleges in India, its MS fees are considerably higher than government college rates. The quality of clinical exposure at the attached hospital and the infrastructure are the deciding factors. Candidates should compare against other UP private medical colleges with MS seats before making a decision.
Ques. How many MS seats does HIMS Lucknow have and which specialisations are offered?
Ans. HIMS Lucknow offers MS General Surgery (5 seats), MS Ophthalmology (2 seats), and MS Otorhinolaryngology (2 seats), totalling 9 MS seats. General Surgery has the highest seat count among the three. Seat intake is subject to NMC approval and may change; check the current MCC or UP DMET counselling brochure for confirmed seat count.
Ques. What is UP DMET counselling and how does it work for private MS seats?
Ans. UP DMET (Directorate of Medical Education and Training) conducts centralised counselling for all government and private medical college PG seats in Uttar Pradesh. After NEET-PG results, candidates register on the UP DMET portal and participate in online seat allotment based on their NEET-PG rank and preferences. Private college seats are filled after government college seats or in a separate private counselling round.
Ques. What is the refundable security deposit at HIMS Lucknow and when is it returned?
Ans. HIMS Lucknow requires a one-time refundable security deposit of ₹5,00,000 at the time of admission. This is returned at the completion of the programme, subject to no outstanding dues or disciplinary issues. The exact terms and conditions for refund should be confirmed with the HIMS admissions office at the time of joining.
Ques. Can a candidate from outside Uttar Pradesh apply for MS at HIMS Lucknow?
Ans. Yes. HIMS Lucknow MS seats are filled through UP DMET centralised counselling, which is open to candidates from all states based on NEET-PG rank. There are no strict state domicile requirements for private college seats in UP. Non-UP candidates can participate in UP DMET counselling and, if their rank is competitive enough, secure a seat at HIMS Lucknow.
