AITS B.Tech Civil FAQs
Ques. Is REAP mandatory for admission to B.Tech Civil Engineering at AITS Udaipur, or can I apply directly?
Ans. REAP (Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process) is the primary route for B.Tech admissions in Rajasthan, and AITS participates in REAP counselling. However, the college also offers direct/management quota admissions through its own online portal (aravalieducation.org). Students who have appeared in JEE Main can apply through REAP for state quota seats. Those who have not appeared in JEE Main or want to secure admission early can apply directly through the college for management quota seats. The eligibility criteria (45% in 10+2 with Physics and Maths) remain the same for both routes.
Ques. What is the actual fee for B.Tech Civil Engineering at AITS Udaipur, and are there any hidden charges?
Ans. The official tuition fee for B.Tech Civil Engineering at AITS for 2026-27 is INR 77,402 per year, totalling INR 3,09,608 for the 4-year programme. Additional charges include examination fees (approximately INR 4,000 per year), registration/enrollment fees (approximately INR 2,000-3,000), and development fees. Hostel (INR 65,000-75,000/year) and transportation (INR 11,000-21,000/year) are optional. For the 2026-27 batch, free bus facility and uniform are provided. Students from Rajasthan with good 12th board marks can avail scholarships of up to 70% on tuition fees.
Ques. How are the placements for Civil Engineering students at AITS Udaipur?
Ans. AITS has a dedicated placement cell and offers a special 4-year additional training programme beyond the RTU syllabus to prepare students for industry. The college claims 80% placement rate with the highest package of 9 LPA and average package of 5 LPA across all branches. For Civil Engineering specifically, placement opportunities exist in construction companies, infrastructure firms, government departments (PWD, NHAI, etc.), and real estate companies. However, students should note that Civil Engineering placements at private colleges in Tier-2 cities like Udaipur are primarily in local and regional firms, and students are encouraged to also prepare for government exams like GATE and SSC JE.
Ques. What is the difference between REAP state quota seats and management quota seats at AITS?
Ans. REAP state quota seats are allotted through the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process based on JEE Main scores and are subject to government-regulated fee structures. Management quota seats are filled directly by the college and may have slightly different fee structures. For AITS, the college offers scholarships specifically for management quota seats based on 12th board marks. Students who miss out on REAP allotment or want to secure admission early can opt for management quota. Both categories lead to the same RTU-affiliated B.Tech degree.
Ques. Is the B.Tech Civil Engineering degree from AITS (RTU affiliated) valid for government jobs like GATE, SSC JE, and state PSC exams?
Ans. Yes, since AITS is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota, which is a state university recognised by UGC, and the college is AICTE approved, the B.Tech Civil Engineering degree is fully valid for all government recruitment exams including GATE, SSC JE (Junior Engineer), RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission), and other state/central PSC exams. Graduates can also apply for positions in government departments like PWD, NHAI, RVNL, and CPWD. The AICTE approval is the key criterion for eligibility in most government engineering recruitment.
Ques. What facilities does AITS Udaipur offer for Civil Engineering students specifically?
Ans. AITS has dedicated laboratories for Civil Engineering including a Surveying Lab, Concrete Technology Lab, Soil Mechanics Lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, and Environmental Engineering Lab. The college also provides AutoCAD and other civil engineering software training as part of its additional skill development programme. The campus has a library, computer lab, sports facilities, and hostel. The college is located in Udaipur, which is a growing city with significant infrastructure development activity, providing students with opportunities for site visits and internships with local construction and infrastructure companies.
