Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a B.Tech / BE or equivalent degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).

A valid GATE 2026 score in the relevant paper (CS/EC/EE as applicable) is required for admission to BITM’s M.Tech programme.

Final-year B.Tech/BE students awaiting results may apply provisionally, subject to meeting the 55% eligibility criterion on declaration of results.

Admission Process

Obtain a valid GATE 2026 score in the relevant discipline (CS for CSE, EC for ECE, EE for Electrical). GATE 2026 was conducted in Feb 7, Feb 08, Feb 14 and Feb 15, 2026.

After GATE results (expected Mar 19, 2026), apply at bitm.org.in/admission.php and submit your GATE scorecard, B.Tech marksheets, and other required documents.

BITM shortlists candidates based on GATE score and prepares a merit list. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification at the BITM campus.

Attend document verification at the BITM admissions office in Santiniketan and bring all original certificates.

Pay the first-year fee of INR 89,000 and complete MAKAUT university enrolment formalities to confirm M.Tech admission.
