BVUCOE Pune Admission Process

The BVP CET route fills institutional and management quota seats through Bharati Vidyapeeth University’s own counselling. Candidates may apply through either or both routes simultaneously.

B.Tech Admission

The eligibility requirement for all B.Tech branches is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board, with a minimum aggregate of 45% for the General category and 40% for OBC, SC, and ST candidates. The selection stages for the DTE Maharashtra CAP route are:

  • Appear for MHT CET (PCM group) or JEE Main
  • Register on the DTE Maharashtra CAP portal and fill college and branch preferences
  • Receive merit-based seat allotment through CAP rounds
  • Report to BVUCOE Pune for document verification and fee payment to confirm the seat

For the BVP CET route, candidates apply directly to BVUCOE Pune with BVP CET, MHT CET, or JEE Main scores. The MHT CET closing percentile for BVUCOE Pune CSE branches under the state merit quota has generally ranged in the 80 to 92 percentile band for General category candidates in recent DTE Maharashtra CAP rounds.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech eligibility requires a relevant BE or B.Tech degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate and a valid GATE score. Admission is through the DTE Maharashtra M.Tech CAP process. GATE-qualified candidates may be eligible for AICTE-linked monthly stipend support during the programme.

B.Tech Lateral Entry and NRI Quota

Diploma holders in relevant engineering disciplines can seek direct admission to the second year of B.Tech through the DTE Maharashtra lateral entry CAP process. Minimum eligibility is a diploma with 45% aggregate from a recognised board. NRI, OCI, and PIO candidates apply separately through the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Registrar outside the DTE CAP process.

Is Bharati Vidyapeeth University good for chemical engineering (Pune)?

Sanovar Lohia
Shreyashi GhoshStudied at Pune University (2019)

One of my friends is an alumnus of this college, and as per her experience, I would give some insights about chemical engineering from BVP.

The institute is decent, but it depends on different factors to decide if it is best for you.

For the placements, BVP lacks opportunities in the core chemical branch. In the previous year, very few companies came for recruitment. It is better not to keep your hopes high for lucrative packages or core jobs.

The placement details of the college are below.

Average Package INR 6.5 LPA
Highest Package INR 18 LPA
Tuition Fee INR 4.8 Lakhs

The scope of chemical engineering is limited in BVP. It is suggested you do not go for it, instead choose CSE or IT, which have a huge demand.

What should I take, IT in MAIT (IPU) or CSE in BVP, MSIT? I have a great interest in programming and my home is near to MSIT and BVP.

Debdeep Majumder
Suchandra JhaStudied at Jadavpur University (2018)

Speaking about IT and CSE, both are almost the same with some changes in their base subjects. Some of my friends graduated with IT and CSE degrees. According to them, apart from the first and second year, it’s the same. There are more languages in CSE.

  • In this case, your choice should depend on the college statistics and the placements. Your entire future is decided by this decision so consider the college and then the course properly.
  • Keep the course as your first preference and the college as the second.
  • The course of your choice will keep you more focused and keep you more determined.
  • In today’s world CSE has more value than any other subject whether it’s on or off-campus. It’s always in high demand and will stay for a very long time.
  • A close senior was from the ECE branch in MSIT and she got placed in HSBC with a package of 12 LPA as a software developer.
  • Companies recruit from some particular branches which are in more demand than others and also the core branches.
  • Your choice of subject will prove more beneficial than your college.

Should I take CS at Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune or IT Mathematical Innovation at CIC?

Girish Singh
Nishant VermaStudies at Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune, 2021

One of my friends is studying at Cluster Innovation Centre and he has shared his experience about the institute. The following points are based on his experience only:

  1. Academics: A total of 256 credits will be there in your degree. The course is not the same as other colleges. You will have subjects Data Structures, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Algorithm Design, and many others. In the second semester, there will be choices given to select your major subject among Electronics and Embedded Systems, Management and Economics, Computational Biology.
  2. Faculty: The faculty is very good in terms of experienced teachers especially for mathematics but the newly appointed teachers are average like the one in the Computer Department.
  3. Fees: The fee structure is very low as compared to the other colleges in India. It is as minimal as INR 5000 per semester that counts up to a total of INR 40000 for your degree. Also, the hostel room including mess will hardly cost you INR 4000-5000.
  4. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is decent with the installations of Wi-Fi in all the rooms. They also have projectors and an air-conditioned center. The college is located near the ground which was also used in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The college also provides the facility of Gym, Table Tennis, and Badminton at the cost of INR 250 per month. It also has a library accessible for the student of CIC.
  5. Exposure: The Institute is well connected with the other colleges like SRCC, Hansraj, Hindu, and many others. It is easy to get exposure and attending their events is actually a great deal. CIC is not highly active in cultural events and clubs.
  6. Crowd: CIC is a central university and is very crowded. It is surrounded by students from all over India.
  7. Placements: It is definitely not a strong part of CIC as they don’t have their own Training and Placement cell and they focus more on start-ups for which they also provide funds up to 8 lakhs. In terms, of placement, the alumni of the college will be of great help, and also the students get PPO in their internships. CIC provides 4 internships in their curriculum.

Whether you want to join it or not, it totally depends upon you. As per my friends’ experience, he had a hectic curriculum during his course. But it came out to be one of his top choices. The quality of students is great at the institute and it is increasing with every batch.
