Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, securing a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories). Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Biology is accepted as the third subject.

A valid WBJEE 2026 or JEE Main 2026 score is required. WBJEE is conducted by WBJEEB for MAKAUT-affiliated engineering admissions in West Bengal. Register at wbjeeb.wb.gov.in.

A minimum of 30% marks in English in the qualifying examination is also mandatory under MAKAUT norms for B.Tech admission.

Admission Process

Appear in WBJEE 2026 (exam May 24, 2026) or JEE Main 2026. Both scores are accepted for state-quota seats at SURTECH Kolkata.

After results, register for WBJEE Board centralised counselling at wbjeeb.wb.gov.in (expected July 2026) and add SURTECH Kolkata as a preference.

Download the WBJEE Board seat allotment letter once published.

Report to SURTECH with original 10+2 mark sheets, WBJEE or JEE Main scorecard, and domicile or caste certificate if applicable.

Pay the first-semester fee of INR 94,800 and complete MAKAUT enrolment to confirm B.Tech ECmE admission at SURTECH Kolkata.
