Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must hold an M.Sc. degree in Physics, Material Science, Solid State Physics, Applied Physics, Theoretical Physics, Nuclear Physics, Space Physics, Atmospheric Science, Computational Physics, Photonics, Spectroscopy, or any equivalent degree in Physics with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognised university.
  • Candidates with a 4-year/8-semester B.Sc./B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics, 4-year B.E./B.Tech. in Engineering Physics, or B.S. (Research) in Physics with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate are also eligible.
  • Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree awaiting results are eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria at the time of joining.

  • Submit the online application at researchadmissions.gitam.edu by paying a non-refundable registration fee of INR 1,200 on or before 11th May 2026.
  • Candidates without a valid CSIR/UGC-NET, GATE, ICAR, or DBT-JRF score must appear for the GITAM Research Admissions Test (GReAT) - an in-person written test at GITAM Campus on 30th May 2026.
