The K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering is located within a sprawling 60 acre campus in Vidyavihar (Mumbai, India). The college was founded in 1983 by the Late Shri Karmashibhai Jethabhai Somaiya.
K. J. Somaiya college of Engineering is an institution having a commitment towards Quality in Technical Education, with the backing of a progressive management, requisite infrastructure, committed staff and versatile students.
Upon recommendations of UGC and the State Government, University of Mumbai has conferred Autonomous Status to our college from Academic year 2014-15, whereby the College will award Degree on behalf of University of Mumbai.

Facilities at KJSCE :
Placement Cell: A separate state-of art facilities for placement. This includes discussion rooms, interview rooms and presentation area.
Amphitheater: A platform through which students’ talent is showcased. At a time more than 500 viewers can be accommodated.
Auditorium: Well-equipped auditorium, which can house 450 audiences. Named as Sakarben Karamshi Somaiya Sabhagruh.
Seminar Hall: College houses 5 well equipped seminar halls for conduction of lectures, training programs, workshops. With an initiative of an alumnus, a seminar hall with the facility video conferencing has been set up.
CDEEP Remote Centre: IIT Bombay (IITB) has taken an initiative as part of National Mission of Education through ICT, supported by MHRD to improve the skills of students and faculties in engineering discipline. K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering is one of the Remote Centers. We are also centre for Aakash Project for IIT B for improving the effectiveness of Aakash tablets.
Common Computing Facility (CCF): Common Computing Facility (CCF) provides INTERNET access facility that augments to the computing facility of every department. It is equipped with 39 PC’s for students and faculty.
Medical Facility: Medical facility is available in Aryabhat bulding for medical emergency. Dr. Hemlata Kawade is available in college on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, between 10 am to 1 pm. Counsellor Dr. Shrirang Joshi is available on Tuesday between 12 pm to 3pm.
KJSCE Scholarship : From the year (2014-15) onwards, College will offer Need-cum-Merit Scholarship in the form of 50% tuition fee waiver to 5 students whose annual family income is less than Rs 4.5 L. 3 students from Electronics Engg and 2 students from Information Technology who are admitted in the round 1 of any of the CAP/ ILS/ Minority rounds will be eligible to apply. These students will continue to get this benefit throughout the 4 years of their degree. Application Form will be made available in due course of time.
